Actually, Sheryl, Garbage is a much KINDER word than I used to Use

for that wonderful stuff!!!! with the accompanying feeling: the problem

is that it was doing such a GOOD job that it made me feel like #$*# & @,

oopps, I mean Garbage!!

I was on for some months without a break at all. I had to in fact

cut back the dosage I felt so bad: but it worked, = not on it any more:

it appears to have solved the heart irregularities I had from Babeosis.

Peace to you

Hi,

When i first went on the mepron and zithromac combo I was floored

for over a week. The doc says it is a herx reaction which means it

is working. I am curious to see how it works with the cholestyramine

I have now added. Well, I did cook, cut and freeeze 10 dozen ears of

corn today in addition to numerous up and dow nthe stairs trips, now

I am going to bake some banana bread and a peach pie so something is

working in me either that or i have inhabited another persons body

while sleeping last night. I have learned the worse meds makes you

feel the better it is working! What happened to the days when meds

fixed you quick!

Sincerely, Dyana

Dyana,

Thanks. That's not really what I wanted to hear. I hurt and I'm sick to my

stomach. Sometimes I feel like I'm gonna die.

Glen,

Thanks for letting me know how good of a job it does.

Garbage was the only nice word that I could think of. The pain is causing only

no-so-nice words come to mind. Thanks.

Yes, Sheryl:

When I was on <MEPRON> the LLMD said for breakfast I should eat an

egg (among other things) to help with the absorbtion of M. Also Potatoe

chips were recommended - I have no problem with either. In fact, now OFF

the M. but still on Ceftin I still like my egg and chips (not in the same

meal of course!!) like perhaps it is a habit??

Peace to you

Hi Kim.

I was told and have read the standard treatment for babesia is Mepron

and Zithromax in combination together. I was on that treatmeant for 3 mos.

The only bad side affect I had was violent dizzy spells that would put me in

bed.. Other than that I was fine...Hope this helps..

Kim,

Mepron is the standard treatment for Babesia...sometimes used with other

drugs, but most often used alone. I do not know of anythng else successful

in killing babesia on its own. Claforan wont do it. I was on Mepron for

about 2 months as my LLMD supected babesia even though my test came back

negative. I had no side effects....nothing! Didn't bother me at all...cept

for the kinda nasty banana taste it had. But that was realy no big deal.

Besides, i was getting severe sweats several times a day AND night. At the

peak almost every two hours i would break out in severe sweats, and anytime i

exerted myself. Also right on thru the night - every 1 - 2 hours would wake

up soaking wet. In a mattter of minutes i would be drenched, and have to

change my clothes into dry stuff. Plus an awfull feeling thru body and the

skin while i was sweating. Babesia is a blood parasite...lives in the red

blood cells, much as Malaria does..and malaria also produces severe drenching

sweats.

I would of taken the Mepron even with side effects, as nothing i ever

experienced, side effect wise, was more awful then those sweats!! The severe

sweats is what made my LLMD think babesia even tough test was negative at the

time (we know how test can go). I would not hesitate if i were you....if

you dont have the sweats yet...dont wait for them to start to convince you to

take it!
