Guest guest
Hi Caroline, Well, I have had a long knee history, so here it goes: Not to worry about clicking at all. Not much swelling is good for healing. The motto is RICE: REST ICE COMPRESSION (as in an ace bandage, or an elastic knee support) ELEVATION Ice no longer than 10 minutes (otherwise blood rushes in to heat the area) 20 minutes off, 10 on, etc. Stay off of it until it heals. Reiki is excellent if you, or someone you know, can do this for you. Let us know how it goes. What exactly happened is yet unknown, yet it sounds not so bad even though it really hurt when you fell. Guest guest
Sorry Caroline for our injury... I can appreciate it as being an ice skater... check the messages for sprains... this past week or so there was alot of advice, very good on the msm.. take some more tomorrow.. hot/cold therapy tomorrow, poultices of greens (see past messages).. and yes white willow will help if its painful, but the msm should be helping this and the inflamation... up your dosage tomorrow... got any organic iron? also good to take. and yes I would wrap it for the next few days to be safe if you're going to be up and around., otherwise no. Sue gave you some good advice too. Guest guest
are you referring to the braces with stays on the sides? these are good, but any ace bandage will work for now. Suziastrosue@... wrote: Try it. I never benefited from it, but everyone is different. Regarding walking...maybe a cane would alleviate some of the weight for a day or two when you have to walk. An elastic knee bandage, especially if you can find the ones with bones on the sides, really lend a lot of support to keep the knee in its correct alignment. Suzi What is a weed? The ones we use have the magnetic field all around the wrop instead of just spot magnets in places. The all over ones are preferable. My husband severely sprained his ankle on a Friday night, put the magnetic wrap on, and worked a twelve hour shift on Monday. They are pretty amazing. Guest guest
Hi Everyone....hope your all having a Great Day today. I need some advice on Meds. I have severe aggressive RA....and went into a drug study for 2 years. The drug study has now ended....I actually came off of it 6 weeks early due to liver problems with MTX......my liver still isn't back on track yet.....so no more MTX for me. Now my problem is...since I was in the drug study....Double Blind......no meds were run thru my Insurance Company. Doc wrote a script for Enbrel.....Ins co won't pay for it until OTHER meds are tried first. And since we don't know if the study drugs were real or placebo's......and none were run thru the ins....they don't consider that as trying other meds first. Can't say that I blame them....cause once I found out what our part was if the ins co did cover enbrel.....I almost choked. So in trying to find other options .......what are some Meds out there.....that any of you have tried that helped? I can research them ...I just don't know where to start on Names of the meds. Also can't take anything that may compromise my liver more. So for 8 weeks now......I've had No RA meds....and I can sure tell it......my left wrist and hand have gotten so bad that I can't pick up my 2lb poodle My feet both have Nodules now and both elbows..my feet and ankles feel like they've been crushed. .......I did find out I had spurs on my spine......I told Doc I had one place that if I moved a certain way...I felt like I was being branded like a cow.. (@@)....lol. xrays showed spurs up and down my spine.......wonder what causes Spurs?? Do they go away? always something else ain't it? LOL......ya just gotta laugh about it......even tho it's not funny. I told the Doc ...I'm just Lucky that way I'm pretty much surviving on pain meds now.....and they don't help much.....I get a little boost of energy for an hour or two.....then I wonder if I'm gonna survive the pain. So any help on meds for RA that don't effect the liver....give me a Yoo Hoo...and I'll do some research on them...and go from there. ......Best Wishes to you with the Baby THANKS ALL !!!! The woman at my local health food store looked at me like I was crazy for talking about both Chinese herbs and homeopathics in the same breath (hmm perhaps I am, but just a little). Thanks, Steve
