Guest guest
I have no idea what the rheumatologist could do for you but a call to their office should let you know whether there is a reason to go in. I would give them a chance to decide what if anything could be done for you. I hope you get relief. God bless. From: Rheumatoid Arthritis [mailto:Rheumatoid Arthritis ] On Behalf Of Sent: Tuesday, June 20, 2006 10:59 AM To: Rheumatoid Arthritis Subject: Pain in Foot I have a pain in my left foot on the inner side (not on the bottom, kind of by my arch). I had the same pain in my right foot and this was the start of my RA over 3 years ago. I am limping and walking up and down stairs is painful. My OB thinks it is RA and wants me to follow-up with my Rheum. but I am not sure what he could do for me, with me being pregnant. I already take Humira. The OB said to take Tylenol to break the cycle of pain but something should be done, because its throwing off my walking, and this he says could lead to back pain or me being off balance. My questions are: Does anyone get this foot pain and what can be done about it? Is it worth going to the Rheum. since I am limited as to what meds to take? Guest guest
Dear - Buying an insole with a high arch support might help position your foot and wearing an arch/foot brace might help. check out www.wisdomking.com for more info. IN a pinch I always use sports tape. You can get it bandaged by the ER doc if its become a real problem or make an appt with a podiatrist right away. They can wrap a foot right and make the pain a thing of the past. Guest guest
That's how I found out I had RA. I could hardly walk. Prednisone was the only thing that worked.50mg for the first 3 days then gradually to 5 mg a day. My doc upped my mtx and she said if it doesn't get better she will MRI my foot to see if there is anything else going on. Guest guest
Well I spoke to my Rheumatologist today. He has never seen me in an RA flare, I had another wonderful doc before him, and sometimes I think he doesn't believe I have RA! Anyway, he didn't think this pain in my foot was RA, but was more likely tendonitis. He can't give me an meds so he suggested wearing shoes with arch support and icing. Maybe I would believe him about the tendonitis but it feels just like it felt 3 years ago when my RA started. He says it could be due to my weight gain but I've only gained about 15 pounds. I may wind up just going to a podiatrist if this doesn't get better because I don't know what this doctor can or will do for me. Thanks for your responses, --- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , " " <catdelouise@...> wrote: > > I have a pain in my left foot on the inner side (not on the bottom, > kind of by my arch).
