Guest guest
It sounds like you can’t get in to see your rheumatologist or even contact him. My doctor orders blood work every two months to include CBC (complete blood count), CMP (comprehensive metabolic panel) and SED rate. I think the CBC checks on general health and the CMP checks on certain organ functions including the liver and kidneys. The SED rate measures inflammation anywhere in your body from any cause, including RA and lots of other things. Perhaps the two most important tests in the CMP are the ALT and AST that check function of the liver. http://www.dattoli.com/files/Blood_Tests.pdf If you do indeed have RA you are likely to need to take Methotrexate or something similar for the rest of your life. So far there is no cure for RA but there are medications that control it for most people. I think you should continue as prescribed by your doctor until a doctor makes a change for you. God bless. I take methotrexate since April 12.5mg weekly. My results in april were very good. When should I think of making the next one? I am still following the prescribtion that my doctor wrote to me in April. I tried to decrease the dose for 2 weeks but then I got pain back (or maybe illusion). I need advice concerning this. I am in a new country and I will be back in October. Can I just continue on this prescribtion till October? Thank you, Mostafa.
Guest guest
Thank you Harlod, Helen, , & Sierra for your replies. The point is that I am new relocated here in Saudi and I got a new job. I don't want to mention to my job that I am sick because I don't want this to affect my image. I am afraid they might take an impression that this will hinder me from delivering the right job. I have medical insurance but I don't want to use it as I am afraid they would report to my company. I told myself to bear the costs of doing all stuff here. However, it is quite expensive here and I want to do the minimum. I will be back to hometown in October. However, as you say I should do the liver function tests now. I will try to find a lab and I will go and make them. Thank you.Harold Van Tuyl <hvantuyl@...> wrote: It sounds like you can’t get in to see your rheumatologist or even contact him.
