Guest guest
You don't say how old your daughter is, but some caution the use of this drug for children under 5 yrs of age. It has to do with the potential ability to cross the blood brain barrier (NOT that it can cross a developed and healthy BBB, but that it can cross an underdeveloped or compromised BBB). This is not a universally held belief. This was first developed for animals. I suppose that doesn't rule it out for humans, but it makes me go a little bit of 'ewwww'. I guess I am curious about what parasites they expect to be treating? Vermox treated our pinworms spectacularly! No side effect in any of the 5 members in our family who took it. I would use it again. And, parasites are quite common in children. I would not be shocked at all that she is infected, but rather shocked that you found it on a stool test! They can be notoriously unreliable. Pam > > My daughter's stool test just came back positive for parasites. (I was a bit surprised because I always wonder how our children develop parasitic infections.) Our doctor prescribed ivermectin for 2 days. I don't know this medicine. Has anyone heard of it, or know anything about its safety profile? > > Thx > >
