1. Have you heard of the study on ALS using multile antimicrobilas? I am not

sure if they are still accepting patients. Let me know if u need further info.

2. This is a possible treatment:

Unasyn 3G/tid. Monitor bloods closely, if and when this becomes intolerable,

decrease to 1.5 Qid. It has anecdotally improved swallowing. To justify= Dr.

B's protocls mention Unasyn as a good option in rocehin failures. Do for as long

as possible, but a bare minimum 10 weeks. Watch out for yeast infections-

yogurts (liquid ith live cultures-find at health food stores, mix with water,

deliver via peg), refrigerated probiotics (avoid all with , nystatin (may

trouble severe hypoglycemics). Deliver " pasteurized juices via peg-available at

health food stores-fresh, refrigerated best, esp. vegetable juices if can be

found-most have tomato which is highly acidic and not tolerated by reflux

disease. Juicing may be risky since it is not pasteurized, also a multi-gran

drink. This covers all most food groups (yogurt, juices, grains). Best enteral

food source- Novasource 2.0 has 475 calories per drink. Feed 5 or 6 meals

daily, can possibly tolerate about 24 ozs, maybe slightly more total liquids at

one feeding- 7am (2 nova), 10am(nova, yogurt), 1pm (nova, juice),

4pm(nova,multi-grain),7pm (nova, juice), 10pm(nova, yogurt). For severe yeast,

increase probiotic supplements.

Oral antibioitcs should not be taken within 2 hrs of probiotics (or yogurt),

or with acidic juices. Also, prayer is tremendous. And Vince, with proper

meds- you WILL improve-plenty of ALS patients living on proper treatments and

baffling docs.

On the line about probotics I meant to finish- avoid probiotics with

enterococcus faecium as it may hypothetically transfer antibiotic resistant

genes to another organism.

I talk to on the phone all the time. They are doing a great protocol,

improvement all the time~~ we are doing alot of alternative therapy as well

as traditional.

Whom else do you have as ALS patients?? I am very interested because we are

putting together a study. I have 91 people so far.
