Guest guest
Hi Steph, Sorry to here about your rheumy. I know it's hard when someone who has been such a big part of your life passes away. My family and I will definately keep your rheumy's family, and you and yours as well in ours. Best wishes, and if you need anything let us know. Dr. Lawson & I had a great relationship -- he appreciated my desire to learn about new medications & ask questions. He is the person encouraged me to walk my marathons ( & donated) and he suggested I become a spokeperson for Remicade. He guided me through broken hearts, job changes & family deaths. He was even planning to attend my wedding, & looked forward to meeting my family. Please keep his family & myself in your thoughts. I have to decide if I am going to switch offices to find a new rheumy. Guest guest
Dear - Congrats on your marriage. I am so sorry about Dr. Lawson. A great RD is a gift in the life of one such as us. On the positive side. Most people just take up space in life. You know what I mean. Just slogging around, complaining and never making an impact. Doctors and teachers are the exception. They leave a legacy that enriches our past, present and future. Their wisdom and life energy hopefully transfers to their protege or the person who studies under them. If Lawson didnt have a protege, he should have. Rather like the recent elections in Isreal. Mr. Sharon is lying in a coma possibly for the rest of his life, and his legacy as well as his protege Olmert are changing the course of history there. I find it so hopeful that such an old dog can generate such a new idea and philosophy. I hope Lawsons work can be studied and duplicated by whoever takes his place. The best RDs should have proteges. I bet I didnt spell that right. My deepest sympathy. Guest guest
Hi Steph, I went through something similar when my beloved Rheumatologist was forced to retire due to illness. He was the best doctor I ever had and I really credit him with saving my life, or at least my joints. I know I will never find someone like him again. His name was Dr. Israeli Jaffe, out of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. > > Hello RA friends, > I just learned that Dr. Lawson, my beloved rheumatologist of 6 years, died unexpectedly yesterday.
