Guest guest
i took your advice, and went to the site, but i was already checked off under " plain text mail " only, and still i get about half my emails with attachments. i wonder if it is because i have an older version of AOL? anybody with suggestions on how to fix this would be much appreciated. i fear opening 50% of my mails these days, and i don't like to miss out on so many posts. pj
Guest guest
Hi Robynn, My last e-mail didn't seem to go as an attachment and I am on AOL. I did upgrade to 6.0 and I think that is just one of the "bugs" they are working out. I had no mail today ... no buddy list yesterday.. all due to upgrades. But tonight things are running smoother. This always happens when AOL upgrades. At the same time, if you don't upgrade along with them, it's worse. They you get bumped constantly! So hopefully my mails are now coming through without attachments!
Guest guest
Darn it! I was hoping that would do the trick. My understanding is that AOL 6.0 will accept HTML mail. You can always try downloading and installing that version and see if it helps. I believe if I ban attachments this would also solve the problem. Do the members of this list have opinions about banning attachments??? The problem, I think is that html IS plain text (ascii). I avoid the viruses by opening my mail in a text window, not in a browser. At least requiring plain text keeps out the MS Word garbage that some people like to send along with the html. On a different subject, I will never go into remission because I have never been sick. Is it because I take 5 aspirins a day + 7.5 to 10 mg coumadin? However, after being on heavy antibiotics since June, I have had two favorable developments which I never connected to Lyme disease. Guest guest
You're probably not the only one. This is really an AOL issue. I understand though that they are trying to conform to the more generally accepted format/code of the internet. Hang in there, I'm sure AOL will get the hang of this soon. =) Robynn Re: [ ] AOL members and attachments sorry to be the one with all the problems, but you are still coming through with an attachment. am i the only one? pj
Guest guest
Yesterday I could not access my mail due to "updating" the system. Hopefully AOL is working on the attachment problem . In the meantime, I assure you, I am not personally attaching anything to my e-mails, I have a brand new computer, and I am very careful myself about ever going into unknown mail or links. My mail is safe. It's only on the list that is shows this way. I am sure once they get the 6.0 bugs out, we'll all be ok. Blessings, Lorraine
