Guest guest
I am pregnant now and was advised by my Maternal/Fetal Medicine Specialist group to be on Humira through my pregnancy. Since flares can cause miscarriages it is important to be flare-free during pregnancy. I can not miss one dose of Humira without getting my RA back. Humira is classified by the FDA as a Category B drug, meaning that it was tested in high doses in laboratory animals and there were no birth defects in the fetuses. MTX, on the other hand, is a Category D, meaning there is a good chance of birth defects to the fetus. The choice is yours but I did not feel I would be able to go med-free. I am currently in a research study for pregnant women on medications in pregnancy, Humira being one of them. Good luck! --- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , " suzie " <suzward05@...> wrote: > > Hi all, > > I am currently coming off medication to make it safe for me to fall > pregnant.
