Is there another hospital near you? Can you call your home health nurse to clear the line, if necessary, or go into your doctor's office? How about one of these " store-front " emergency clinics? Try to make some kind of alternate emergency arrangements so you don't worry too much about it all the time. > > Love ya, > Rose That's a good idea. I have to find a way to take care of this if it happens again. Dr. B's office (my llmd) is about 1 1/2 hours away so that's not preferable in my condition. Maybe a clinic could do it but I'm not sure. The home nurses said they cannot use the stuff in the home that they use to eat through the clot... I guess in case something goes wrong they want you in a hospital.. I wonder if a clinic would be ok. I have to check that out. Thank you! The nurses called today and said that they need an OK from my llmd in order to change the line and they couldn't get a call back from him today. So, they are going to try again wednesday to get in touch so they can put in a new line. This means no abx today or tomorrow. It's not the end of the world but annoying!! I see my llmd on wednesday afternoon so I'm going to have a chat with the PA and see what's up with all this and my future options in case this happens again.
