Guest guest
I've been told by several rheumatologists that they can't give me the TNF drugs because of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I have tried to explain to them that although it may look like an infection that it is not an infection it is a disease. They still will not treat me with the TNF drugs. What is funny is before I told them about the HS (the only reason I did was because I had trouble sitting that day) the Remicade worked wonders for the HS, but did very little for the RA. All they give me are nsaids and all I get from those are major gastro problems. What do you think? Teah
Guest guest
Have you PcP or whomever is treating you other condition contact the rheymmy and explain your disease. I would also note the improvement while you were on rhemicaide. Toni > > I've been told by several rheumatologists that they can't give me the > TNF drugs because of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Guest guest
I found this article as I was not familier with your disease. Apparently it is related to many auti-immune diseases. Here is the link i was reading from: http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic259.htm Toni > > I've been told by several rheumatologists that they can't give me the > TNF drugs because of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Guest guest
Perhaps MRA would work for you. They are coming out with a B cell drug for RA and its in trials. Even more exciting, they are beginning trials on a kind of blood exchange therapy similar to bone marrow to reverse RA all together. Hang in there- There are drugs coming. Guest guest
You should maybe see if you could take the nsaids while on a gastro med like nexium. I couldn't take them without it, but as long as I take my nexium daily, Im fine. Guest guest
Hello Teah, I'm not sure how to answer that maybe it would be wise to find another Rheumy and see how or what he thinks ? as for me when I was on Remicaicaid I allso got more releife for my oter problems than my R/A but after I had to leave work and could no longer afford it I allso came back to reality . teahmayben <teahmayben@...> wrote: I've been told by several rheumatologists that they can't give me the TNF drugs because of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa.
