I had my son's tonsils removed last week and I thought I'd give an update for

other parents who might be considering this surgery for their child.

His tonsils were not enlarged at all, but he was diagnosed by Dr. K with PANDAS.

He developed tics as of recent that were getting progressively worse. Naturals

and drugs were tried with very transient improvements. After his tonsils were

removed, within days, all his tic were gone! He's doing better, but I have to

continue cleaning his gut andnd detoxing to see the fog clear. Too early right

now.

As for the Anesthesia, I insisted on no Nitrous Oxide. For those who are

interested, below I listed what he was given. Worked very well for him. No

regression.

1. Pre med- Fentanyl (makes your child groggy so when the mask goes over his

face, it's not a traumatic experience.

2. the anesthesia was 0.5 mg/kg of body weight. I had them give the lowest

dose per lb. of body weight, but enough to ensure he was completely sedated.

3. Sevoflourane- muscle relaxant

4. Decodron- 2 mg instead of 4 mg (antinausea)

5. Demoral- 20 mg/kg body wt.

6. Zophran- 2 mg antinausea

7. Tylenol- rectally for pain, put in during surgery

8. Ancef- antibiotic

My son is 40 pounds.

Removing my child's tonsils and adenoids made amazing gains for my child. I'm

not constantly hearing verbal tics and the neck and eye tics are gone. Hope

this helps.
