I may be wrong, as this is info from 1-00, Ceftin was the only approved Lyme

drug. I did 300mgs Doxy for 7 months, no change, no herx, nothing. When I

went to 1000mgs Ceftin and 500mgs Zith, huge herx, bad few months, knew they

were kicking chete butt , did that combo for 14 months.

Lyra,

Ceftin is a Cephalosporin II generation, used often in the treatment for

lyme. Deoxycycline is often used and could be argued better. I don't know

about Ceftin but deoxycycline has shown to pass the blood/brain barrier

(similar to Rocephin). Passing the blood/brain barrier seems to be a very

important part of treatment for neurological lyme. Obviously I'm not a

doctor and any thing I write concerning treatment or diagnosis is only my

own opinion.
