When my girlfriend was on plaquenil she used to get a rash all the

time. Her rash was on her neck, shoulders, and upper back. She was also

on gold shots at the time, so we werent sure whether it was the gold or

the plaquenil causing the rash. The gold shots had had her RA under

control, but as soon as they discontinued the gold shots her RA has

gotton continually worse. This past winter and spring were the worst.

She is on Methotrexate now and 5 mg of predisone. That has seemed to

somewhat get her flares under control.

She was supposed to get into a study for rituxan, but so far she has

not qualified for the study. Her doctor said to stop taking the

predisone to get her sed rate where it should be to qualify, but she

doesnt want to quit taking it right now while she seems to be improving.
