We just keep on doing what we are doing to help others no matter what

type of info they are seeking. And keep reading and thinking about

bacteria, virus etc. Someone, somewhere has the answer and does not know

it yet, or it will be discovered (soon, I hope). Take care!! MA

  • 2 weeks later...

I did reply to Charlie privately and made many suggestions to help his wife.

I, too, am absolutely sick to my stomach to see the needless suffering that

people are enduring due to the ignorance of the medical field. I have a dear

friend, misdiagnosed with Lou Gehrig's and now it may be too late to save

her. I am helping her daughter fight tooth and nail to get the IV rocephin.

She is in a nursing home and it is disgusting!!!!!!!!

another person that has to vent--I just visited her.

Dear Charlie,

I get so angry every time I read about what someone has gone through with LD

(the " we don't have that here " disease). It is so inexcusable to me and I

think that more drs. should be being investigated for misdaignosing and

improper treatment, and leave the ones who ARE treating it alone!!

Sorry, I just needed to vent. I don't have any suggestions for your wife to

help alleviate her pain. The only thing that comes to mind is maybe an

alternating pressure mattress (used in hospitals).

I will be keeping both you and your wife in my thoughts.

The human spirit is stronger than anything that can

happen to it.

I replied privately as well, with no response. I guess he must be overwhelmed with all of the private mail and will respond when he can, I hope everything is alright by them .

Charlie: I also will keep your wife in my prayers. I know too well her

desperation and I hope and pray you will help her find some way to get some

relief without resorting to what many of us keep in the back of our minds

when we feel despondent. And for her to know that we are all with her and

praying for her to hang in there.

Warmest thoughts for you both,

Donna

Troll or real???

I can't help but get involved when someone is crying for help; I think

because we all know what it is like to be so desperate. I almost lost my

husband to lyme in 1998. I then found out I was chronic but he was much

worse. After an angel was put in my path, I promised I would help whomever

needed info about lyme and how to fight it.

Oh well, what can one do?

My llmd told us (her patients) that most of us have compromised immune

systems and odd things like latent and otherwise symbiotic bugs are also

attacking us...virus, bacteria and fungi. So the issue also is to try to

raise the defense system while fighting the various attackers...with

antivirals, antibx, antifungals. This is not easy without working with

someone who is knowledgeable beyond the majority of western trained medical

minds. But there are supplements and I don't think if we had someone to help

us, we would have to spend all our available credit maintaining ourselves.

Linus ing certainly had some insight into this...mind/body issues were

addressed by Norman Cousins who was at UCLA when I was a student there.

Anyway, antibiotics may very well be the centerpiece if bacteria such as

mycoplasmas or even unrecognized as of yet bacteria are adding to the misery

of lyme. But my llmd treats the viruses and gets us on probiotics + diet so

as not to feed the fungi unnecessarily.

Pain for me is the bugs attacking my nervous system and some neurologists

think that the myelin sheath (that fatty layer protecting nerve cells) is

being invaded in my body and thus I am in almost constant pain that puts me

into a very primitive state of mind...cranky and miserable from being a once

very loving and consistently kind individual. Opioids are of some help but

they make me feel awful. Acupuncture was very helpful but only for a few

hours..but at least I could see the blue sky and know that God hadn't

afterall forgotten about me. Your llmd should know some methods of relieving

some of our pain and it is often trial and error and our own intuition of

what works/doesn't work. I use ear drops from a health food store which

relieve my pain for a little while and I cling to them during the day.

Nightime when I medicate myself to sleep is the main time of my existence

when pain doesn't intrude into my reality.

Also my acupuncturist who I can't go to anymore due to lack of insur.

coverage, told me to keep my diet more alkaline...more veggies that are green

in color and less acid foods...he's right because the pain level does go down

if I can just keep on this diet when I can.

Anyway, we each have a story to tell no less valuable to our lyme community.

Happy New Year ahead and I pray for all of us to feel better the years ahead.

Warmly,

Donna

Hi Charlie,

this got me thinking....

for your wife Jeanne,...

in addition to a good mattress or pad, use extra pillows, prop them under neck, at sides (both sides), between knees when on sleeping on side, under knees when lying on back, under side of hips when lying on stomach.

get the idea?

this gives so much added comfort, and allows for more comforable positions to sleep & /or relax in.

Also,

heat feels wonderful to me, so another idea is to try

putting a light blanket or comforter or large towel in the dryer for a few minutes at high heat, then take it & put it on or wrap it around Jeanne while it is still warm.... she should really appreciate the gesture & how good it will make her feel.

Hugs,

a Aida/ NJ
