From some reading I've done ... I know Garlic has some action against

parasites... in relation to the yeast problem - I had all the same symptoms

and when I took lamasil, it all went away really quickly. I couldn't believe

the difference. I thought the Lyme was causing pleurosy & I was going to

have to be hospitalized, on top of the stomach problems and it was all

yeast.

Coleen,

What it sounds like is either you have a yeast problem or you have developed

food allergies...Ofcourse it takes energy to digest food but geez not THAT

much and you shouldn't be falling asleep after eating everytime.. Something's

going on for sure..

Cheryl,

I have never taken BP right after meals, I don't black out but get so sleepy I

can just lay over and go to sleep after eating-and it doesn't matter

what I eat-amount has some bearing but not the " what " . I wonder could this be in

the same catagory? When I complained and complained to Dr's one

finally said to me, " it takes all of your body energy to digest "

Hi Deb,

If your blacking out is your blood pressure dropping following meals

( " postprandial hypotension " ), it could be autonomic instability (not

unusual in chronic Lyme) in which there is an impairment of the vascular

response to meals. It might be worth looking into. You might also want

find more on " postprandial hypoglycemia " .

Robyn,

I agree of course, something going on but after 10 yrs of asking Dr's why and

they doing nothing and having no suggestions, no tests finding

anything wrong, I guess I can blame it on LD, was told to eat carbs as they have

long lasting energy, now that would be good if I could stay awake

long enough to have that energy-LOL. Used it to my advantage sometimes when I

couldn't go to sleep, I would just eat a sandwich and lites out. I was

just wondering if my problem could somehow be connected as when this was really

bad, when I would lay over the heart palps were scarey.

I " m thinking you should be tested for both. The allergie testing for foods

you can get done through blood and the yeast if it's in the gut you can get

tested through stool. You can also get tested for systemic yeast in the blood

stream through blood.. The yeast test is run by Stony Brook Labs in Long

Island NY.. They're are an excellent lab for this type of thing. If you need

lab and or test info to hand to your doc for any of these tests let me know

and I " ll give you all the info.

I truly do not believe this is a food allergy b/c I get the SAME EXACT THING

and I've been to the allergist many times. Also, that would mean that I am

allergic to EVERYTHING I EAT and I would also be breaking out in major hives.

I think it has to do with the Lyme affecting a certain area of the brain

that regulates blood pressure and eating and our vascular systems. I am it

will resolve with abx treatment.

P.S. I am also in the Bicillin/yeast herx from hell for 4 weeks already.
