Our almost-four-year-old son had a botched DMSA administration on our first

attempt (due to my mistakes, he got 25mg DMSA unevenly over 28 hours, ending

Friday night when he got a fever). He has had a high fever on and off (mostly

on) since then. It has been 3 1/2 days. We took him to urgent care yesterday and

they didn't know anything about chelation, swabbed to test for strep and

determined that was negative, suggested we wait 24 hours and come back for blood

tests if the fever doesn't break. Our son seems increasingly delirious, though

he has been urinating well and taking fluids for the most part. He has been

fatigued, lethargic, sleeping most of the time, had some pain on urination, had

one smelly poo earlier tonight that was mostly smooth brown diarrhea, had a

couple incidences of numbness or tingling on his feet that went away quickly,

doesn't sweat at night though gets extremely hot (103F or higher). He also had a

chronic cough in winter 2008-2009 when we unfortunately lived in a house that

had black mold.

I am wondering if anyone has experience with mold affecting their children after

chelation. My husband and I are very worried that our son may be experiencing

mold entering the bloodstream after it (or something) was loosened from

chelation. If you do have experience with this, please comment on what you did

to diagnose and treat your child.

Thank you,
