Guest guest
Hi Stacey - If your child had menengitis just last year, she would really benefit from being on antivirals, especially if she is having ongoing problems as a result. It will help lower the ongoing immune response that the brain is expressing to keep the virus suppressed. The 'spells' do sound like they may be seizure related, and you might look up absence seizures. Your child may have other disorders as a result of the virus, but it is possibly not damage per se, but rather an ongoing process that has not resolved. The old paradigm believes in the damage, but there are so many findings now that the immune response can continue and that treating the viruses can bring a lot of relief to your child. HTH- seizures Hi I was hoping someone would have some advice. My three year old daughter has what we call " spells " . Not quite a seizure but a few moments that she will stiffen up and zone out for a few seconds, sometimes falling. This happens most often after waking. We had her on kepra and the spells became worse not to mention the other horrible side effects. She has other dosorders as a result of menengetis herpes encephalitis she was sick from last year. Anybody that might have suggestions would be grreatly appreciated. Thank You Stacey
Guest guest
I read in Bells book on chronic fatigue, that one symptom of the immune dysfunction in cerebral dialtion due to the immune system being turned on and the over production of cytocines. I would look this up for a more accurate description, but am lending my book to someone else to read! I have no idea if this is connected, but is more of a thought and theory. If the bloodflow is not stable or with too much dialtion, could it cause a zoning out and a falling / mild syncopal episode? No idea about the stiff joints though in this. You said you wanted suggestions! (: From: Granny <granny.lucy@...> Subject: seizures Date: Saturday, October 18, 2008, 4:05 PM Hi I was hoping someone would have some advice. Guest guest
Angie, I think it has to do with the NO levels. NO is a dilator (nitroglycerine for angina), and if it is chronically high such as in CFS and autism the adrenals overcompensate resulting in constriction which I would assume would be episodic in some people. I think that explains the low epinephrine we see in many children and the adrenal fatigue. Kathy **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
Hi Stacey, Has you daughter had an MRI with contrast, and a CINE flow study of her brain to rule out a Chiari Malformation yet? @...: granny.lucy@...: Wed, 22 Oct 2008 16:30:08 -0700Subject: Re: seizures Wow thanks for all the help! Guest guest
Hi , Can you tell me where to get the antivirals for my daughter. I talked to her new doctor about them and he didn't seem to know anything. On the other hand, the more I research it, my husband and I can't believe we were never told of the possible benefit. If you could give me some tips on how to buy them that would be great. Stacey seizures Hi I was hoping someone would have some advice. My three year old daughter has what we call " spells " . Guest guest
You need a prescription for antivirals. It's surprising your doc wouldn't have a least a passing familiarity with them. You may want to seek out a doctor that specializes in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and immune dysfunction.
