I believe you should start with DMSA for a few weeks after you get your

fillings out (to clear out the mercury in the blood from the fillings). The

ALA pulls from the brain so you can start that after several weeks.

I'd start low with 25 mgs of ALA and 25 mgs of DMSA and see how you feel.

I'm about your weight and I started at 25 and went up to 50mgs of each

pretty quickly.

Have you been taking your basic supplements for a while? The book

suggests you are on them a few weeks before chelating (C, E, milk thistle

-anti-oxidants-) , magnesium, probiotics, (GSE, biotin - for yeast) omega 3s,

(melatonin/5-HTP/Valarian Root for sleep etc.) Also, Dana has recommended a

few

things for thyroid support (Iodine, selenium, tyrosine). I do the iodine

but have not added selenium or tyrosine.

Do you have Andy's recommended book? I would also familiarize myself with

it and the basic vitamin recommendations and dosages. I take about 4

grams of timed release vitamin C a day and add one camu pill (which is a whole

food source of vitamin C per round). I take about 4 of the camu on my off

chelation days. I use everything listed above and some co-enzyme Q-10. I

want plenty of antioxidants in my system - both water soluable and not (the E

and co-enzyme Q-10 are not so they last longer). The C is water soluable so

you pee out C every couple hours (which is why I take timed release). I

also drink some organic green tea almost everyday.

If you feel okay on the 25mgs of ALA and DMSA (after you've done a few

rounds of DMSA alone), you can try to up the ALA to 50 mgs and see how you

feel. Yeast has been my main problem as well as struggling with frequent

dosing due to missing sleep when on round. I recommend you read enough to

become familiar with the basic supplements and chelation protocol. I continue

to read (years later) because my memory, fatigue and brain fog mean that I

need reminders and motivation. I comment less than some due to memory

issues - I'm always unclear if I have things straight! Good luck and get

started. Keep reading and re-reading for motivation.
