,

Thanks for the great links. They were very informative. Its a lot to think

about. I just would like the pain to ease a bit. Isn't that sad. I know it

probably won't go away completely, but I'm having that unbearable pain that

we all know about. It is exhausting trying to control it day after day.

Hi ,

I seem to be the only one in my family who is having this problem that's why

I was wondering. I guess I should ask my doctor but I don't have an

appointment till Monday.

I live in California. I had the MRI done a few weeks ago and now I have to

set up an appointment with a nuro. I can't express how tired I am of seeing

doctors.

I am sure my now ex divorced me because of my RA and I went through a time

of hating myself. Then all this other stuff comes up that I have wrong, it

seems like the older I get the more I get.

Hi ette,

I don't know if this is a condition related to JRA. It seems to run in my

family though. My dad has had 5 surgeries to repair discs over the years. I

think that people with RA may be more succeptable to back problems because

of

the way that our bodies have to compensate for weaknesses in areas. This is

just my opinion of course. Good luck with your back problem. How long of a

wait to see your neuro? I hope not too long. Where are you located?

hello, all! well, I saw a back specialist on Friday, and he agrees with my fam.doc. and rheumy. that I have sciatica. he has ordered a MRI for Tuesday (tomorrow). I told him I have two titainium hip implants, but he said no problem. I spoke with the secretary at the Diagnostic Imaging office, and she phoned her radiologist, who said no problem. well, all I can imagine is a silly scene, where they turn on the machine and CLANG, I am stuck to the ceiling = LOL = seems like a perfect LaVerne & Shirley episode = has anyone had a MRI after having joint implants? thanks, and gentle hugs, Marcia

You know, that open  MRI is a bunch of bs.....it's been a while, but I had to

have my shoulder done.  I got on the table and they brought a huge round disc

down, almost touching my face, propped me on my side with pillows and said don't

move for 60 min.  Well it took two of them to get this stiff old body off that

table after it hadn't moved in one whole hour.  It was the worse thing ever.

I did much better today, in half the time.  I guess because it's a weekend, I

won't get results until Mon. or later.  Bobby

Hi a: Hope you did well. Your not alone. They wanted to do one on

me for my spine back in 1998, and they had to pull me out because of my

claustrophobia. Never did go back for it. I thought if it was ever necessary

that I would do the open one. Not sure if I could even do that. Let us know

how you survived this one.

I am about to leave the house for one.  I took 1/2 Valium just to get ready,

and will take 10mg before the procedure.  I am claustrophobic, and have had an

open one once, it was terrible too.  Well, wish me luck, I have to go to the

lions now, that's how it feels!  Bobby
