So, to be clear. You are saying/suggesting that commercially processed meats

(beef/chicken/etc.) - because of the antibiotics used in raising the animals -

affects our gut/digestion/good & bad bacteria/etc. the same as taking

antibiotics (out of a bottle) today?

If that's the case . . . . what a huge problem has been created!

Thanks for your continued dialogue.

You are very fortunate to have your medical doctor. Sounds like there openness

to the alternative natural stuff is here. I would love to work with a doctor

that takes insurance. I work with several chiropractors that do.

Wil,

I guess all doctors are not created equal after all. My doctor did not

create my Candida. I have to assume responsibility for my choices: a.

binging on chocolate candy, cheese, ice cream; b. not handling stress

very well, etc.

My doctor (who incidentally graduated from Hopkins University)

truly understands the body as a system. First doctor I've encountered

who speaks of energy healing, applied kinesiology, holistic approach.

She diagnosed my candida, but did not create it. She actually spent time

with me doing visualization exercises, meditation sessions. You might

want to check her out: Millennium Health Care Center, town Square,

Chamblee, Georgia.

She has done lots to correct the toxins created by silicone breast

implants. Many of her patients come to her to actually engage in the

whole detoxification process to correct the atrocities of this

process...

And, yes....she accepts insurance.

Carolyn

Hi, Barb --

In this group we have long been pretty candid about our experiences and have

named doctors by name. I don't think you need to worry if you are simply posting

the facts about your experiences with given doctors. This is the kind of

information that is so helpful to others who need guidance as to where they will

get knowledgeable, respectful treatment and where they will NOT.

Best,

>

> Hi . I have a question. I would like to post info on my docs and

most of it is pretty negative. In today's litigeous society, could these docs

have grounds to sue for slander? I would like to post names and locations, but

just wondered if this is allowed or if the docs could come after me for saying

bad things about them. Is there a certain way to word comments that is better

than others. Thanks, Barb

Ray,Your very best bet for Hep C and treatment is a Liver Specialist or Hepatologist.  Your second choice would be a gastro.  Definitely NOT a GP.. they don't know enough..  actually, many gastro's are not well schooled enough on Hep C.  That's why I went from a gastro straight to  Hepatologist.

Thanks Gloria, My Gastro doesnt know cause I haven't told him yet. Hes a nice guy but my GP has done everything to me. Saved me by finding a mass in my colon that I had taken out , it was pre-cancerus. He found my diabetes, hes just been good to me so far and talks like he knows what hes talking about and says he does them all the time. Plus he runs thousands of blood test on me and I haven't startes tx yet.. I have an appointment with the gastro this week to talk to him about it......we ll see what comes of it

Thanks for the input as always,

RayI can't imagine that your Gastro doesn't know about the HepC!!! I can't imagine that you were only sent to him because of the nausea. Here, where I live in Canada, my Gastro leads the pack of Drs. My GP will always defer anything to the higher authority regarding my HepC when I still had it and now, with my liver cancer. The only thing that he defers to another, is the actual surgery! The surgeon has his office right at the next door from the Gastro though. I love my Gastro. He's a little Japanese Dr. probably raised in Canada though and he his so humble and sooo nice. On our first visit - he was proud to tell me that he met Kim Cattral one time. She hails from the Valley I live in here. He acted a little star struck about it. But, my

Mom and I told him, that even Kim Cattral should feel honoured to meet him.Gloria

You don't need to qut with your GP. He should work with your Gastro. Many of the meds that are needed during. TX will come from your GP. Gastro = Liver / HCV. GP = sleep meds, anti deppresents, anything else you have going on.http://facebook.com/people/andTrudy-Kinsey/1340460877 " "A well- behaved woman never made history"...Mae Westhttp://oktravels.wordpress.com http://allrecipes.com/cook/TrudyK/profile.aspx On Nov 30, 2010, at 12:38 AM, Hoover <hooverrwh@...> wrote:

Just

a few to be going on with. Do you have your GP's email address so you can send

these to her so she can read them before she sees you. I would send a copy to

the Head of Practice to considering this particular practice seems not to

believe there is any connection between the tests you requested and

hypothyroidism. How many other patients are they leaving to continue to suffer

so badly?

I

have also attached the document 'Why thyroid hormone replacement might not be

working' but they probably will tell you these conditions don't exist either.

Hell, I am sorry I have been off line but have been most unwell and my

husband quite ill. Then I lost connection with the group yet again and

suddenly it reappears again.

Anyway, although I didn't see the programme about lack of care by

doctors I do think we need to be very careful to not generalise. The

vast majority of our medical people do amazing work and save thousands

of lives. Did anyone watch the transplanr programme the other night?

Absolutely amazing work which saved three dying patients. There is, as

in any walk of life, those at the bottom of the pile who are the pits

and I speak from experience after losing my beloved daughter through

medical negligence. But, on the other hand my life was saved after I

was airlifted into hospital and emergency surgery carried out on my

heart. My age did not come into question(I was in my 70's). My husband

too has had and is till having intensive treatment for heart failure. He

is now 83 but has the best any medical person can offer him. Sometimes,

I fear that we are in danger of throwing the baby out.............. I

do understand how difficult it is to have any compassion when we suffer

so much and our GPs do not seem to have the answers or, who get it

wrong. One of my doctors pointed out that they are, in fact, only

general practitioners and, in fact practising medicine and that the

general public expect them to know all of the answers, which, of course,

is near nigh impossible isn't it.

After my daughter's death I almost lost my mind and was so very angry,

as you will imagine, but I did not want that seed of anger to grow into

bitterness and it was an awful journey for me. But now I try to see the

other side, and yes, there are those doctors who are the pits and we

have all had some stick from them, but there are the others who are

doing a job that heals thousands and to whom I am in awe and so very

grateful.

Best wishes to everyone.

Audrey

A good joke i have read from med school forums....

" What do you call somebody who graduates from medical school bottom of the

class? ... A doctor "

Steve :P

Hi Audrey,

Sorry to hear you've been unwell again....... this is no fun.....

Good that you got the forum back though I have no idea why, other than they were

doing some maintenance on it earlier on in the week....

To be fair, we do moan a lot about our doctors on here, but that's because by

the time we get on to this forum, many of us have lost our faith in them and no

longer trust them to look after us. If the doctor made the correct diagnosis

and gave the correct meds, then there would never be any need for these forums.

Hello Audrey, welcome back - I did wonder where you had

disappeared to but know you were having problems with your ISP. Will write to

you later and catch up with what has been happening, but I have Dr Peatfield

with me this week doing his Yorkshire clinic at my cottage, and he takes over

my little office as his consulting room so cannot get to my computer. Anyway,

you have been missed and good to have you back, but I really shouldn't be saying

that on a forum designed to help those still suffering should I? I would have

hoped you were not around simply because you had got better and had no need of

this forum anymore.

Luv - Sheila
