Hi Chris

Dr Peatfield is a certified Nutritionist and hormonal problems

are just some of the areas that nutrition can help with. You should contact Dr

P and Theodora and ask if either are able to deal with the specific hormone

deficiencies you are thinking of. i.e. Melatonin, Growth Hormone in adults,

Thyroid, Calcitonin, Cortisol and glucocorticoids

DHEA and androsternedione, Pregnenolone, Aldosterone,

Testosterone, Progesterone in men.

If you type in 'Hormone Specialist UK' into Google - you will

get quite a few up.

Luv - Sheila

I have seen Dr P and he is very good, am I mistaken though in thinking that he

does not test or address other hormone deficiencies? I have been reading Dr

Hertoghe's book (the younger one) and i have symptoms of growth hormone, testosterone

and dhea deficiency as well as possible thyroid issues.

Can you email me the names of any drs who test these please if Dr Peatfield

himself doesn't? Does Dr Theodora have a similar approach to Dr Hertoghe?

If you want a MD, you need to look at Holistic MDs. Naturopath Drs treat candida

with natural staff. If you write to Geneva Lab customer service and ask for a

list of Drs who use their service in your area, (Guessing you are in the

states), they will send you it back and you can have an idea. Most Drs who use

Geneva services treat candida.

Good luck with that!! How can a doctor except insurance for a problem which is

most likely from his making in the first place?

For a medical doctor to admit to a candida overload they will have to come to

the truth of the candida overload was more than likely from their drugs and

radiation in the beginning.

From my research, which I have put in my book page 32, the United States Medical

Authorities, in 1953, denied the connection of over 5,000 documented cases of

extreme candida overgrowth in the survivors from the bombing of Nagasaki and

Hiroshima, saying it was just a " coincidence " .

Shortly after WWII antibiotics have become the most prescribed and used drugs

leading to this candida epidemic we see today. Now today, we have a lot more

drugs effecting the GI tract in a negative way all of which are part of this

huge profit machine. Medicine of 2010 is not about helping people! It is about

profit, disguised in helping people. Back in the 80's when the medical,

insurance and financial policies shifted, allopathic medicine followed the

money trail lead by the profit mongers of the pharmaceutical industry.

Amazing how high the denial factor has reached.

Neat, eh? This is the reality that I have found.

Wil,

I guess all doctors are not created equal after all. My doctor did not

create my Candida. I have to assume responsibility for my choices: a.

binging on chocolate candy, cheese, ice cream; b. not handling stress

very well, etc.

My doctor (who incidentally graduated from Hopkins University)

truly understands the body as a system. First doctor I've encountered

who speaks of energy healing, applied kinesiology, holistic approach.

She diagnosed my candida, but did not create it. She actually spent time

with me doing visualization exercises, meditation sessions. You might

want to check her out: Millennium Health Care Center, town Square,

Chamblee, Georgia.

She has done lots to correct the toxins created by silicone breast

implants. Many of her patients come to her to actually engage in the

whole detoxification process to correct the atrocities of this

process...

And, yes....she accepts insurance.

Kind Regards,

Carolyn

I agree with Wil Doctors did create it by giving you either Antibiotic, steroids

or birth control pills. You can eat all the chocolate and sweets in the world

and never get this dread condition unless you have been heavily expose to the

drugs listed below. That is nightmare story I was in perfect health and life was

wonderful til the doctors over prescribe me Antibiotics for a Prostate infection

that I never had. Now I'm 4 weeks away from losing my Goverment job of over 25

years because I can't work anymore. I've very angry!!

Bobby,

I respectfully disagree with you. I have never been one to consume antibiotics.

I have been practicing alternative medicine for 25+ years. On one occasion when

I was given an antibiotic for a sinus infection, I became ill, and discontinued

the medicine myself.

The biologic unit in which we are encased does not respond to a " one size fits

all " . The medical model uses this approach, and unfortunately, I sense

alternative health / healing approaches are moving in the very direction that

they oppose.

Your experiences are specific to you. Your journey toward illness, and the

associate journey toward recovery is unique to each biological unit. I contend

that excess sugar (over my lifetime) and improper handling of stress compromised

my immune system and enabled the overgrowth of an opportunistic organism. That

organism is as much a part of my physical landscape as the viruses that inhabit

my cells. My journey is to restore equilibrium in a manner that works for my

biological landscape. That is my primary point.

Carolyn

I totally agree with Wil, it is impossible for MD's to admit they are wrong on

this and accept insurance UNLESS they have done their own study, like Dr

Crook (The Yeast Connection) and my double Ph.D. (MD + ND) in Austin, TX (i am

in maryland now).

(..antibiotics definitely affect the gut, killing both good bugs AND bad.)

we might be living in caves to not have heard about kevin trudeau's expose'

books: Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About [2 volumes--he has more

books out; those were the ground-breaking ones]. the FDA is not our friend and

Louise,

I believe there are doctors as capable of self-examination as Naturopaths, etc.

Again, the " one size fits all " concept just does not work for me. My

experiences (and my Doctor) are different. So, I guess it just depends on your

journey.

I was a Registered Nurse for years, and left the field because I didn't buy into

the medical model. However, since then I have found several physicians that

understand the issues with the medical model, and seek to work with the

uniqueness of their client.

To say that it is impossible for a medical doctor to self-examine (and respond

accordingly) is a pretty tough stance. It assumes that folks are unwilling to

grow in the face of " new " news.

I do agree with your point on the FDA. All you have to do is review Life

Extension's reports. But, interestingly enough, LEF is comprised of Medical

Doctors (as well as Alternative Health practitioners) who do " Get It " .

Well, after reading Wil and Carolyn's messages below, i am further convinced of

the importance of interdependency!! seems we ALL have a little piece of the

puzzle; and by sharing our thoughts and knowledge, we build and support each

other: the end result a synergy and multiplication of progress none of us could

have achieved on our own!

Bobby, as i understand it, there is always hope! I like to think that those who

prescribed the drugs did not know what they were doing to affect our systems the

way they did. for me, forgiveness is *key* or i stay stuck in bitterness,

self-pity, complaining--and nobody wants to hear me whine--anger and hatred! [my

personal " mantra " is: i forgive you God, even though it was not your fault, i

forgive those who hurt me, and i forgive myself!]

This really helps, and especially saying it out loud. :-)

Bobby, *many* people get well, get their functionality back. if you are new at

this game, grieve your losses, but then there should come a time of resolution

I agree with Wil Doctors did create it by giving you either Antibiotic, steroids

or birth control pills. You can eat all the chocolate and sweets in the world

and never get this dread condition unless you have been heavily expose to the

drugs listed below. That is nightmare story I was in perfect health and life was

wonderful til the doctors over prescribe me Antibiotics for a Prostate infection

that I never had. Now I'm 4 weeks away from losing my Goverment job of over 25

years because I can't work anymore. I've very angry!!

Carolyn

Carolyn,

You said:

To say that it is impossible for a medical doctor to self-examine (and respond

accordingly) is a pretty tough stance. It assumes that folks are unwilling to

grow in the face of " new " news.

Carolyn, i hope you didn't think that is what i said, because i didn't! what i

said was, medical doctors (yes, typically) do not understand unless--to quote

you--they " open themselves up " to new information. how i worded it was: " with

self-study. "

I agree and am grateful for your sharing, that there ARE more M.D.'s who are

understanding the naturopathic!!! How encouraging!!! How fortunate for you that

you have found some of these people!

(My own row has been much more difficult--seems i have primarily found those who

were absolutely, positively closed to the symptoms i have been suffering. and

they wanted (more than once) to send me to a shrink too, in their denial! so my

" job " has been to plant little seeds in their psyches, the truth that i have

known. hopefully those seeds will grow in time!!!)

so thank you for your encouragement!

Kind Regards,

Carolyn

Carolin,

I strongly encourage you to visit Dr Walt Stoll website. This incredible Dr has

a point of view very similar to you. You will love his 3LS program. I know how

your candida developed and Walt has the best explanation I have read about cases

like you. The stress effect on the gut and how candida overgrowth. Walt is MD

but was a holistic one. This man was in contact with Dr Crook for years and is

one of the pioneer in treating candida.

Walt one time wrote me back telling this " I have seen many patients on

antibiotics for long time without develop candida " .... He knows antibiotics are

a trigger but no everybody on them develop candida. So, candida has other

underlaying factors... My uncle took antibiotics several times the last two

months. He is diabetic, 81 year old, has prostate cancer and is fine.. The last

time, he took Cipro for 21 days to prevent an UT infection after one stone was

removed.

He is drinking beers, eating anything and happy. How you can explain he didn't

developed candida????? I would like to know.

I haven't taken drugs nor eaten excessive sweets.  But I think mine was caused

by excessive stress over a lifetime.  I was abused as a child & I'm married to

an angry, depressed man.  I've always thought stress brings out the worst in us

- depending on our weakness.  I guess this was mine.  I was diagnosed with

endometriosis in 2004 then told I have candida if I have that.  I guess it's

different for everyone.

Louise, so sorry if I misinterpreted your intent. I read the words with emotions

that were misplaced.

You are absolutely correct in your assessment regarding most practicing

physicians. Most doctors do not believe Candida Overgrowth is a " real process " .

I was diagnosed with dust allergies recently, and when I challenged the

physician that the allergy was a response to a preexisting candida overgrowth,

he thought I was misinformed, and proceeded to give me nasal steroids which

further compromised my system. I stopped taking them shortly thereafter.

I have been very fortunate in finding Dr. Kolb in Atlanta, Georgia. I am

not a Georgian, but a transplant from land. It took years to find a doctor

that I could trust and who practices her own principles. When you walk into her

office, the presence is almost ethereal. Crystals are in locations that balance

energy....the environment is calming. She truly enters into a partnership with

her patients.

Any way, thanks for your kind words, your wisdom and your feedback. I appreciate

you, and all the wonderful folks on this forum.

Kind Regards,

Carolyn

stomach lining.

Kind Regards,

Carolyn

Very hard to do when you go back and tell them what they did not only they don't

care but will deny it. And now have to take my job to court to get my LTD given

enough documentation from my doctor to get it thru everyone is playing games

don't want to pay.

Bobby, as i understand it, there is always hope! I like to think that

those who prescribed the drugs did not know what they were doing to affect our

systems the way they did. for me, forgiveness is *key* or i stay stuck in

bitterness, self-pity, complaining--and nobody wants to hear me whine--anger and

hatred! [my personal " mantra " is: i forgive you God, even though it was not your

fault, i forgive those who hurt me, and i forgive myself!]

This really helps, and especially saying it out loud. :-)

Bobby, *many* people get well, get their functionality back. if you are new at

this game, grieve your losses, but then there should come a time of resolution

where you regain strength and vision for your future, and move on!

this is a great group, and i for one am glad you are here with us! just don't

give up, things can get a LOT better with perseverance!!!

Hope this helps.

Louise

The good guys win--I read the back of the book!!!

Carolyn

which are part of this huge profit machine. Medicine of 2010 is not

about helping people! It is about profit, disguised in helping people.

Back in the 80's when the medical, insurance and financial policies

shifted, allopathic medicine followed the money trail lead by the

profit mongers of the pharmaceutical industry.
