Guest guest
Hey everyone, I emailed and Kate to see how they were doing. Actually they have had some set backs. Kate messed up her doses with Flagyl (remember their doctor's regime, slow approach and gradually increase?). Anyway it really set her back. asked me to let everyone to know, if you take Flagyl and start to herx, stop taking it until the herx stops, then start back. I have the old dose information always used to urge everyone to try. He really believes in this regime and has seen first hand with Kate. But so many people I know are on Flagyl and don't have this problem. This disease and treatment is so weird. Vicki, Md
Guest guest
Hi Vicki, Thanks for the update on and Kate, I feel bad for Kate, I was hoping she was well. I do miss them on the list, so please mention that next time you write. Hugs, Marta >From: " Vicki Ferraro " <ferraroa@...> > >Hey everyone, >I emailed and Kate to see how they were doing. Guest guest
Dear Helen, I had a horrible herx from Flagyl. I think I had to increase my sleep meds, I became depressed; generally felt like shit. It's normal. Love, Eileen
Guest guest
Hi Helen, When I was on Flagyl for 5 days, I became very depressed and I felt as if someone was carving out the cartilage in my joints. Weird. I tried to space it by going on for 4 days and off for 3 for a few weeks, but then gave up after about 3 weeks. I also tried Tinidazol too and it did the same thing. I think that is why I haven't gone back on, because it made me feel so depressed. I just started Rocephen iv about 10 days ago, so we'll see what happens. I heard people feel better about 10 days after the HBOT treatments are over. I hope that happens for you. All the best, Irene

The bananas do work for me, and they help with my leg spasms. Someone on this list suggested trying another brand of flagyl. I am on a generic brand, and I will ask if I can change to the brand name to see if it helps. ~ >> Dear , Pam & All, Don't know if this is true of flagyl, but a (non-LLMD) doc told me once of Biaxin that the reason you get the metallic taste in mouth is due to superior tissue penetration - so it could be a " good thing. " Also, we found the 500 mg flagyl tabs to be very powdery - may want to ask doc to rx the 250 mgs - they slide right down... They're a generic, but seem to be a slightly different consistency. Hope this helps!

Guest guest
Hey Pepi; just a quick note; I know some people have had a hard time with flagyl, and I have found it difficult also. I'll also tell you that for my lyme symptoms, it one of the best things that's ever happened to me (combination therapy). Hope it works for you.. Sincerely, Regina > > Hi y'all, I started 1/2 a tab last night ( 125 mgs ), when should I expect to die? *-) thanks > > > > > > Dont bother with answering LOL, I think I am feeling my answer, about 9 hrs after first dose. Guest guest
Pepi, if you do get your MD to prescribe Actos with it...it's the only way I can take it without being blasted by herx. Had tried for 2 years prior to the Actos to take it without success. tansy > > > > Hi y'all, I started 1/2 a tab last night ( 125 mgs ), when > should I expect to die? *-) thanks > > > > > > > > > > > > Dont bother with answering LOL, I think I am feeling my answer, > about 9 hrs after first dose. I was on it for a month, then WHAMO* POW**, on my back for 5 days. I can't explain it, but when it hit I sure knew it, even my hair hurt! Starting on a half tablet should temper things for you, starting slowly. It is a very strong rxn for certain. Good Luck! Jim
Guest guest
Flagyl was the answer to my prayers! It ws wit this that the brain fog cleared up. Why are you ao worried? The dosage you are taking is very small. KIM

The dosage you are taking is very small. I am not worried, actually glad I am on it. Its been a road to get me to this point, now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The dose I am on is small to start with, I will work up to alot more than this. Thanks! Take care, Pepi
Guest guest
Pepi, Just an added note on flagyl. A lot of people when they are put on flagyl get really high doses and they get sick. I was told by my LLMD that 250 mg a day will do the same thing. So - maybe it will work. Iknow lots of people that this worked for and cleared up all the neuro symptoms. Good Luck - also if you have babesia, the malarone is also working wonders. KIM

Please, don't anyone get down on me for offering. I just hate to > throw this stuff out when there may be someone in need. > > Dear a, I'm curious, how did it go? Many times I have also been tempted to offer meds that I have that I no longer need, as I, too, hate to throw them away when there are people who need them and can't afford them. I'd even pay the postage, just want to help others. I suppose it could be trouble if someone was the " vindictive " type, and one never can be too careful, but at times I've done what you are offering. I will only do it with someone I trust, then pray that my trust is well-founded. Also, I will do it only with routine meds, never with narcotics, and only if assured that the recipient really suffers from a condition where the med will really have a chance of being helpful. So far I've been fortunate in that the people I've helped have been appreciative and honest. Hugs for being so nice, a, but do be careful. Hope you are feeling better, Hugs, a in NJ

Guest guest
My hubby was prescribed flagyl, but only 250 mg. twice a day, but he has a breathing problem so I think the Doc wanted to go slowly with him. I am not sure if it's a herx or not, but he feels weaker in his hands and even his legs, feels alittle uncoordinated. Can you explain what happened on your herx??? Thanks and Good Luck, Dixie On Mon, Feb 14, 2011 at 10:46 AM, herbsilly <jfeliciano@...>wrote: > > > Had herx meltdown on my first round of Flagyl two weekends ago and doc said > not to take flagyl for two weeks...this weekend i am supposed to start the > flagyl again...should i just take 250mg for this weekend and ramp up next > weekend to full 500mg dose...any thoughts > > >
