ANN _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of truthwinsnow Sent: Saturday, February 13, 2010 6:57 PM Subject: [ ] Increased stimming with ALA, please help me decide Hello parents, We did several rounds of DMSA (25 mg every 4 hours) on my daughter (7 yo, 62 lbs) without any medical or behavioral side effects (except little tired). Then we introduced ALA at 7 mg and slowly increased up to 12.5 mg. She became very stimmy at ALA 12.5 mg and was tapping on surfaces all day long. Does that mean the ALA dose is too high? Or does she has more body burden of Mercury than in the brain? I want to continue Chelation. What should I do and how should I do? We have yeast fully under control with anti fungals and probiotics. Thanks in advance. regards, Ragha
Guest guest
Are you supplementing zinc? Zinc is necessary for metallothionenine to work. Metallothionenine detoxifies heavy metals, and zinc binds to mercury. Without adequate zinc, you might be just shifting mercury around without getting rid of it.  Did you finish removing mercury from the rest of the body before using ALA? It may be possible for ALA to bind to mercury and carry it past the blood brain barrier into the brain. Make sure the rest of the body has been cleared mercury before using ALA. Guest guest
It might be worth dropping back to 7mg if that was'nt causing any problems. Tapping was a yeast symptom here, so I would question whether the yeast was " fully under control " . Dana
Guest guest
Hi Dana, I agree that tapping is a yeast symptom. But, as soon as the 3rd ON day is over, her tapping became very less and the next day, it was almost not there. This means yeast got peaked with DMSA/ALA and then then got back to normal after ON days? So, what is the remedy? Increasing anti fungals on ON days? Or decreasing ALA? or Removing ALA for now? Thanks, Ragha > > She became very stimmy at ALA 12.5 mg and was tapping on surfaces all day long. Does that mean the ALA dose is too high? Guest guest
Hi Goran: I was wondering if that was you (I am from LOD) ....So glad to hear from you!!!! We are doing the DAN protocol with lots of essentials oils and vitamins to support his system... My 7 yr old can tolerate alot, so we are doing 200 mg DMSA 3x/day and 25 mg ALA 2x/day....he is doing very well on it but I realize that it is NOT for everybody....To develop our protocol, it was based on an OAT and amino acid protocol.... What anti-yeast things are you doing??? Here is our everyday protocol: Fish oil - 4g/day Culturelle 3 billion cells/day (due to bacteria) Mega Flora Probiotic - 25 billion 2x/day MSM - 2 g/day l-glutamine - 3500 mg/day (for leaky gut) melatonin - 1-3 mg 3/day depending on activity level P5P - 50 mg/day CoQ10 - 50 mg/day (mitochondiral issues) Vit C - 500 mg 3x/day Folinic acid - 800 mcg Zinc Citrate - 60 mg 3x/day (pica - eats paper) Cal/Mag/Phosporus - 1 tbsp (phos is low on metals test) Biotin - 24mg/day Taurine - 500 mg/day Mag Citrate - 140 mg 3x/day (when constipated) 5-HTP - 50 mg/day NAC - 500 mg/day Lecithin - 1/2 tsp This is what I add for supporting his system during chelation: Day 1-3: Nystatin - 3 scoops 2x/day (when taking DMSA) Thieves Essential oil (1 drop/day) Lemon/Orange Essential Oil on feet (helps to support glutithione) Day 4-7: Nystatin - 2 scoops 2x/day Juva Cleanse Essential Oil (herbal chelator) 10 drops/day 1/2 dropper of ionic minerals (lithium very important) Multi-Vitamin - 3x/day Lemon/Orange Essential Oil on feet (helps to support glutithione) Day 8-14: Enzyme - 2 with each meal Gogi Juice 1tsp 3x/day Thieves Essential oil (1 drop 3x/day) Lemon/Orange Essential Oil on feet (helps to support glutithione) Multi-Vitamin - 3x/day Nystatin - 2 scoops 2x/day It is tons of work but I worked into it gradually.... Take care... ANN _____ From: Inap Inap [mailto:atnapatnap@...] Sent: Sunday, February 14, 2010 5:53 PM aschimka@... DMSA and ALA MUST be given every 3 hours around the clock or major redistribution of metals will occur. This has nothing to do with what the body can tolerate, but the chemistry of DMSA and ALA. As well, 200mg is way too much. Start at 12.5 mg and work up. > he is doing very well on it but I realize that it is NOT for > everybody....To develop our protocol, it was based on an OAT and amino > acid > protocol.... > > What anti-yeast things are you doing??? > > Here is our everyday protocol: > > Fish oil - 4g/day > Culturelle 3 billion cells/day (due to bacteria) > Mega Flora Probiotic - 25 billion 2x/day > MSM - 2 g/day > Also redistributes metals > l-glutamine - 3500 mg/day (for leaky gut) > melatonin - 1-3 mg 3/day depending on activity level > P5P - 50 mg/day > CoQ10 - 50 mg/day (mitochondiral issues) > Vit C - 500 mg 3x/day > Folinic acid - 800 mcg > Zinc Citrate - 60 mg 3x/day (pica - eats paper) > Cal/Mag/Phosporus - 1 tbsp (phos is low on metals test) > Biotin - 24mg/day > Taurine - 500 mg/day > Mag Citrate - 140 mg 3x/day (when constipated) > 5-HTP - 50 mg/day > NAC - 500 mg/day > Lecithin - 1/2 tsp > > This is what I add for supporting his system during chelation: > > Day 1-3: > > Nystatin - 3 scoops 2x/day (when taking DMSA) > Thieves Essential oil (1 drop/day) > Lemon/Orange Essential Oil on feet (helps to support glutithione) > > Day 4-7: > > Nystatin - 2 scoops 2x/day > Juva Cleanse Essential Oil (herbal chelator) 10 drops/day > 1/2 dropper of ionic minerals (lithium very important) > Multi-Vitamin - 3x/day > Lemon/Orange Essential Oil on feet (helps to support glutithione) > > Day 8-14: > > Enzyme - 2 with each meal > Gogi Juice 1tsp 3x/day > Thieves Essential oil (1 drop 3x/day) > Lemon/Orange Essential Oil on feet (helps to support glutithione) > Multi-Vitamin - 3x/day > Nystatin - 2 scoops 2x/day > > It is tons of work but I worked into it gradually.... > > Take care... > > ANN > > > > > > > > > > > _____ > > From: Inap Inap [mailto:atnapatnap@... > <mailto:atnapatnap%40>] > Sent: Sunday, February 14, 2010 5:53 PM > aschimka@... <mailto:aschimka%40san.rr.com> > Subject: RE: [ ] Increased stimming with ALA, please help me > decide > > Hi, > > We are on the 2nd round of DMSA - chelation AC protocol... > Did you give Zinc 60 mg 3 times a day... so its 180 mg a day????? > > Will you please tell me what other supps you give during and after the > round??? > > I give my son DMSA (25mg), divided in 4 doses, 6.5mg a dose... and will > increase slowly... > I give the dose on 3 hours.. > Some give on 4 but I give on 3 hours and totally 24 doses for 3 days.. > > How much DMSA you start anf how much you giver?? > Did you give on every 4 or 3 h... > > Any other advices?? > > My best regards > Goran > Macedonia > > > > From: Ann Schimka <aschimkasan (DOT) <mailto:aschimka% 40san.rr. com> rr.com> > Subject: RE: [ ] Increased stimming with ALA, please help me > decide > @ <mailto:Autism- Mercury%40g roups.com> > groups. com > Date: Saturday, February 13, 2010, 9:19 PM > > My son takes Nystatin to keep his yeast under control and when we are > doing > chelation days.....I increase his dose from 4 scoops to 6 scoops (per his > DAN) for a few days....ALA stimulates more yeast (I believe).... > > ANN > > _____ > > From: [mailto:Autism- Mercury@ > groups. > com] > On Behalf Of truthwinsnow > Sent: Saturday, February 13, 2010 6:57 PM > > Subject: [ ] Increased stimming with ALA, please help me > decide > > Hello parents, > > We did several rounds of DMSA (25 mg every 4 hours) on my daughter (7 > yo, 62 > lbs) without any medical or behavioral side effects (except little tired). > Then we introduced ALA at 7 mg and slowly increased up to 12.5 mg. > > She became very stimmy at ALA 12.5 mg and was tapping on surfaces all day > long.
