Guest guest
I think the TNF drugs may actually lessen the risk of lymphoma. Aggressive RA seems to contribute to lymphoma and the TNF drugs are given most often when someone has aggressive RA. Because of this people who take TNF drugs are more likely to have lymphoma than the normal population but there is no way of comparing them to people with aggressive RA who are not on TNF drugs. If the drug reduces the aggressiveness of the RA it could also reduce the risk of lymphoma. I don’t think there is any way to actually measure this because nobody would want to have aggressive RA and not be on a TNF or similar drug, God bless. Drugs Won't Boost Lymphoma Risk http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=60199 I know this is only one study but for me personally it gave me more certainty that I am doing the right thing for my RA. I hope it gives others who are afraid of the Lymphoma risk some comfort to try the TNF drugs. I know parts of the article are depressing but I think the key is here to treat your RA as aggresively and as soon as possible.
Guest guest
I get mixed signals with the studies. I'm on humira and one of the cautions was lymphoma, then this article comes out. Oh well, I'm sticking to what works for me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maggie http://www.4HockeyFans.com http://www.4FloridaHockey.com -----Original Message-----From: Rheumatoid Arthritis [mailto:Rheumatoid Arthritis ]On Behalf Of Sent: Saturday, March 04, 2006 10:37 AMRheumatoid Arthritis Subject: A New Study: R.A. Guest guest
Thank you for that info. I have been afraid of going to a higher level drug just for that reason. It makes me feel a little better. > > From: " " <catdelouise@...> > Date: 2006/03/04 Sat AM 09:36:33 CST > Rheumatoid Arthritis > Subject: A New Study: R.A.
