Guest guest
We did this for 4 months and you would not believe how horrible it was. We did Bicillin. The needle chamber (not sure what it's called, where it holds the meds) is HUGE. It's a lot of med in there. It is the consistency of a thick hand cream. I would hold it under my armpit to warm it the entire ride to the doctor's office. It's a little looser when warm. So imagine a chamber about the size of a crayon filled with hand cream, and injecting that into muscle. By the time the shot was over, my son's doctor and I cried more than my son. He was a trooper because he knew there would be french fries when it was over. But he'd have a huge bruise and limp for a day or two afterwards. IM is great but we went back to oral. I couldn't do that to him any more. Kerrie In a message dated 5/10/2010 11:08:11 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, webshopping2009@... writes: I actually wondered about IM ABX as well. I was thinking that would be the best route. When I asked this question of my DAN dr-he said if the ABX are killing something in the gut then the IM shot doesn't do it. So I guess it depends on what you are trying to do. SHannon
