Guest guest
Can someone explain the difference between 12+, 16+ etc. We bought the 12+ and paid too much for it at an Asian vitamin store. I have used it myself every time I start coming down with sinus, sore throat, and enlarged lymph nodes. So far, each time the symptoms resolve within a day, if not sooner. > > > > Manuka honey 16+ is what most of my family is taking. Something went around in my family that looks like sinus infection or strep but antibiotics didn't help my daughter or my grandma. I have 6 family members now taking the honey and seems to keep whatever it is at bay. I know it sounds off the wall, and the other people hear probably have some tried and true remedies, but this stuff killed whatever we had going around. Of course it is honey, so be careful of allergies. > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: natkrupnik <natkrupnik@> > > > > Sent: Sat, March 6, 2010 9:21:07 AM > > Subject: [ ] Sinus Infection Remedies? > > > > > > Hello, > > > > My 2 y.o. son has a nasty sinus infection with lots of mucus in his nose and his throat. Guest guest
I think that number has to do with antibacterial strength. 16+ is the superior product, but using something over a 10 has benefits. This only applies to the New Zealand manuka honeys (also referred to as UMF or Unique Manuka Factor) and not all manuka at that. From what I know, UMF should appear on the label and should show that your particular patch has been tested for 'potency', so to speak. I'm not sure how strict they are with monitoring testing, though. Hope that helps. The higher the UMF, the stronger the healing properties (according to them).
