Guest guest
The third dose of Hib is only recommended for up to age 15 months. Here is the link to the CDC recommended schedule - http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/recs/schedules/child-schedule.htm . Your baby is too old for Hib. Guest guest
This would be the fourth shot that they say he needs. > > > > We would like to start our 23 month old son in daycare 2 to 3 times a > > week but when I went to the doctor to get a copy of his vaccination > > records they're telling me he needs an extra shot of the Hib Vaccine > > in order to be able to go into daycare. Guest guest
Most likely you will need to either give the vaccine (required in most states to give at least one after 15 months, but not requires after 60 months old) or get an exemption. All states except Mississippi and West VA allow either a religious and/or personal belief exemption. Most day cares and all schools require documentation of exemption or vaccines to attend. Guest guest
Thank you very much for your response. Unfortunately, the day care won't accept the exemption unless it's with a doctor's note and our doctor said they can't provide us with that note. > > > > > > > We would like to start our 23 month old son in daycare 2 to 3 times a week > > but when I went to the doctor to get a copy of his vaccination records > > they're telling me he needs an extra shot of the Hib Vaccine in order to be > > able to go into daycare. Guest guest
We're still researching to go vaccine free but in the meantime we don't feel comfortable giving it to him since it's not preservative free. I will just have to look for another daycare that accepts the exemption. Thank you! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > We would like to start our 23 month old son in daycare 2 to 3 times a > > week > > > > but when I went to the doctor to get a copy of his vaccination records > > > > they're telling me he needs an extra shot of the Hib Vaccine in order > > to be > > > > able to go into daycare. Guest guest
Can you get a religious exemption? You don't want to be vaccinating him anymore...
