What is the purpose of the shot? Is it necessary for an MRI?

Just curious because my son needs an MRI very soon to check his brain

activity since he's having absence seizures.

I don't give anything to him, I'm paranoid about giving him anything, so,

any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You need low contrast to check for the seizure origination point. I don't

know if there's any way around this, so obviously discuss with your

neurologist, epileptologist, and the radiologist.

My son is scheduled for MRI. I would not get the kidney function test, nor will

I allow an IV. No access for contrast, period. The last thing my son needs is

unidentified toxic crap put in him AGAIN.
