Guest guest
I keep hearing about parents stating they are on round # 140 etc... Are they doing 3 days on and 11 days off, or every week, or longer days? I'm using low dose DMSA, every 4 hours. Thanks so much!!
Guest guest
hi, It really depends on everyones circumstances tbh, right now, we are doing 3 days on 4 days off with dmsa, but we have only done our first round, I aim to do every weekend, but I also have to respect the fact that i'm 4.5 mths pregnant, and may not be able to manage this every weekend, so then I would change to 3 days on 11 days off. when the baby is born, i may only do 1 weekend a mth, or change my chelator so I can lengthen dosing but still maintain every weekend, or change the chelator and the on/off schedule. I also have to keep an eye on the yeast and side effects etc, my v toxic eldest may only be able to cope with every other week, my youngest once a mth, we'll just have to see how it pans out really, I think a round is generally classed as '3 days' and you follow which ever on/off schedule is best and most appropriate for you and your child, hth Emma mum to 3 with asd; 3, 7, 12; round 1 dmsa; 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg > > I keep hearing about parents stating they are on round # 140 etc... Guest guest
It really depends on how your child responds (and how good your alarm clock is :-) ) I believe we started in January '09 (?) and are on round #66 this weekend; in the beginning, I planned to do 50 to 52 rounds per year. But when you add in oversleeping, sickness, etc. you may not be able to do a round every weekend. The key is to be consistent. During the summer, we did every other week because we did 4 to 5 day rounds with ALA so that combined with everything else pushed our round numbers back but the progress is good. Can't wait to see how #100 looks!!
