Alum Block

I have a question about alum blocks. I see them used for shaving or a

deodorant. Alum is aluminium potassium sulfate used for shaving and

deodorants (either potassium or ammonium alum). On the deodorant stone I

have it says: natural mineral salts. From what I understand they are

different from the aluminum that is toxic: aluminum chlorhydrate. Can

someone comment on this?

Thanks

Hi, I think it is just as bad as the normal stuff, I am thinking about trying

the zinc one, there is one at i-herb and it has good comments.

I have been using the alum deodorant stones for a few years. I found

them in health stores, so I thought they would be a good alternative.

I just found out that alum was a type of aluminium. What are some good

choices to use for deodorant?

Thanks

Hi

I have recently found Bionsen very good. I think I got it from Sainsbury's and

it was not over expensive. Better still it does seem to work as others that I

have tried didn't. I use the spray one by the way.

Lush do a deodorant that has sandalwood and bicarb in it - you buy it in a big block and it lasts forever. I use it and its the best alternative I've found. My sister uses the bionsen and swears by it.
