My ASD 5 yo DS seems to be in pain after every meal. I've switched up the foods

and I don't think it is a new allergy. I've gone some meals without giving him

any supplements and it still happens. It seems to be getting worse and worse.

In the past when I've given something to treat yeast or bacteria, problems from

these things haven't persisted just because he ate something, yet that is what

is happening now. He is SCD so there is no sugar, carbs, etc.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? I don't know what to do! He is

only " himself " for a few hours (before breakfast and between meals) a day. He

is starting now to be in so much pain that he is going " in his own world " again,

perseverative again, oppositional defiant again, and less aware again. These

" autism " symptoms aren't as bad as in the past, but they are starting to creep

up again. I am totally panicked!!!

Thanks,

Sometimes on the SCD you're consuming a lot of meat and nuts which can be

difficult to chew.  Our kids on the spectrum tend to have low muscle tone and

sensory issues that make them horrible chewers.  I would bet he's constipated

and you want to flush him out with enema, laxatives, fiber, etc.  Also try

making certain that his food is cut in small enough pieces.  This was

challenging with my son because he tends to avoid small pieces and goes in for

the big ones but even still he swallows his food whole sometimes.
