Guest guest
We do. I honestly don't know how much it affects our situation. There are many people with this gene profile who don't have Autism or other noticeable neuro issues. I have used something called Methyl-Guard from Thorne. It initially gave us some good language leaps (2 caps/day). I know just use it for maintenence. It has: B6, Folate (as 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate), mB12 and TMG. I haven't looked in to Yasko. I've had the best success, thus far, with chelation. My guess is I will continue to use Methyl-Guard or an equivalent after the Autism is gone to minimize any underlying health concerns that might arise from the MTHFr issues. Hope that helps a bit. Other than folinic acid are there any other interventions that you have used that have been helpful in treating this? Have any of you done Yasko? Is it worth doing more of the extensive testing and following her protocol, or has anyone done it on your own? I would love to chat with anyone and compare supps/chelation/reactions etc.. of kids with both mutations. > Thanks! > Shiri >
