Guest guest
I've always suffered from acne as well (teens, 20s, 30s and now in my 40s). Because I was mercury toxic and low on energy, I used coke, cookies and candy for energy. I never understood until recently, that whatever is in them (I suspect high fructose corn syrup) contributes to my complexion problem. I continue to have some fruit and organic fruit juice (orange acerbates my yeast problem) but I still don't break out when I have an o.j. shake (even though I might get yeasty). Lemon is the shake I go with most as it's very low on sugar (sweetened with xylitol or stevia). I bought coke from Mexico (costco) to keep in my pantry for the rare occasion that I want a coke (Mexican coke is made from sugar not corn syrup). I had one a week or two ago with pizza and I did NOT break out. I did, however, break out a few weeks ago after purchasing some weight watcher 1 and 2 point bars. They were only 50-100 calories but were made with HFCS. I have eliminated almost everything in the house with it (including catsup). The only item I still use with any regularity is Yoshitas Teriake sauce. I don't seem to break out from a Tbsp or so perhaps because it's always consumed with a big salad and rice (the Tariake chicken). Most of the people on this list are probably very conscious about HFCS but I thought I might mention it since it's in SO many of the juice products today, canned things (like ravioli, chili) and condiments. I was shocked when cleaning out my pantry, fridge and freezer how many things list HFCS as an ingredient. My skin has never looked this good. I have been cutting down on sweets over the years (I lived on them in my teens and 20s). I wish I would have given up that garbage to this degree decades ago! Baby steps!
