Hi my name is Donna and know what you are going through.. I was diagnosed with RA at the age of 40.

all i can say is it is life changing and it takes time to get used to the diff. talk to your Dr about the depression that comes with this .. because it is there. I still have good days and bad days. it just goes with it.. and I have had this for 16 years I am now 56. If you would like to chat anytime about RA or just anything just e mail me. and Don't forget there are those good days.. keep moving

wanted to say hi. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis a little over a year ago. I am a few short years from 50 but still have the mind of a 30 yr. old, which makes it even more difficult.I just keep going through this grieving process for the loss of what I use to be able to do. Each day seems to bring about more changes. I am on meds for the RA and seeing a rheumatologist, but this doesn't help with the psychological aspect of it all. How do you all keep your spirits up? especially on the bad days?

Thanks for the encouragement Donna. I had to get up early today for physio so I am going to lay down for a bit. I am so so tired all of the time, do you find yourself tired too? and lack energyDurns1@... wrote: Hi my name is Donna and know what you are going through.. Ardeith writes: I *shop*......I don't mean I buy anything......but I *shop*

online catalogs, and usually end up thinking, " Look at all the stuff I don't

need! " But I get a lot of good ideas for my own embroidery and sewing

projects from my *shopping*. I thought I had a line on a great book of

realistic looking frog patterns......but it was sold out. Cartoon frogs

don't do a thing for me.

Then, if I don't feel like sitting upright, I find an old favorite book

and get lost in whatever world is there......I collect a lot of Science

Fiction books. And mysteries.

If I feel alright sitting in my chair, I might work on something beautiful

to give someone for a present.......or work on drawing up a new design.

Right now, I'm collecting chocolate wrappers from all my friends.......I

want to make a shirt design that says, " Chocolate is SO a major food group! "

and surround it with replicas of chocolate wrappers....Hershey's, Dove,

Nestles, Lady Godiva.....and many more.

When I'm gone, I want my family and friends to have pretty things to

remember me by......so that they remember all the things I CAN do instead of

how helpless I was.

My mom embroidered designs on dresses for my neice.....who passed some of

the dresses on to my daughter's little girls......and my daughter plans to

save the design parts (when the dresses are worn out) and frame them....or

work them into a wall hanging.

It may be nice to be wealthy, and leave lots of land or money to your

descendants.. and it may be nice to be healthy and strong and athletic....so

your children can remember what a great game of tennis their mom

played........but I'm neither wealthy, nor all that healthy......and I've

never played tennis in my life. But I can make beautiful designs to work

up into clothing, or to frame, or to put on a totebag, or make into a wall

hanging or a pillow top.......right now I'm itching to finish the current

project so I can get on to the dolls I want to make.....lovely little ladies

dressed in early 20th century ball gowns......for my granddaughters, of

course.

I want to make the things, but I don't want to keep them......my house

breeds enough **stuff** without my adding to it.....
