Shower filters with COPPER and zinc???

Hello, I was at our local hfs and bought a shower head filter from Enviro

Produts. I got home and looked it up and it says it has zinc, copper and quartz

in it. I have always heard kids on the spectrum should never take copper and

that copper chelates zinc, which my son tends to go low in at times.

Does anyone know if I should or should not use this and/or recommend a safe

shower filter? Thank you for any advice on this.

I don't remember the brand of shower filter that I had, I just remember that it

used copper in some sort of exchange process - over a 3-4 month period, I began

to lose my appetite, I became very picky about the foods I was eating and

eventually put 2 and 2 together to realise that they were all high copper foods.

My symptoms were actually symptoms of copper overload. Copper has an addictive

aspect - as your levels increase you lose your appetite for red meat, and crave

copper rich foods, eg chocolate, nuts, avocado, chicken.

Thanks for letting me know your experience Gail. I was worried about something

like that happening. I guess this filter is going back to the store today.

I once saw a shower filter on the internet that I think used something like

coconut shells for the filtering processs but I can't find it now. I guess I

will keep looking. If anyone knows of a safe one, could you please let me know.
