Diabetic shoes

I'm

just curious about something. A few weeks ago I saw a podiatrist

at my RA's suggestion. Anyhow the podiatrist suggested I look

into diabetic shoes. He suggested that even though I don't have

diabetes he thinks it might be a good idea. He say's I don't have

much padding on the balls of my feet and he thinks diabetic shoes might

help. He actually said something along the lines of there not

being much between the bones in my feet and my shoe. Or something

like that.

I was just wondering how common is something like this for people with RA?
