eat fish and smell like it for days...even weeks. For example, I gave him one

tsp of Omegas last Monday and he still smells like fish. His breath, urine,

pores...everything. Does anyone know why?????

Can be either too much, or too little, carnitine. How much carnitine are you

giving? Try modifying the dose.

Most kids I know of, take more than that. Try giving another dose of 500mg at a

different time of day.

Or conversely, remove it for a few days, see if things get better or worse.

Dana,

You mentioned that in the beginning your child could not tolerate fats(fish

oil). How did you determine it? Was it all fats as in fried foods or just the

fish oil? How did you remedy that? I read the other day about a direct method

and indirect method of taking fish oils, but not any details. Would you know

about that?

Thanks

Any time I gave any EFAs, he developed severe ear wax problem and was highly

mean and aggressive toward other people.

All fats, but Omega 3 was worst.

>>How did you remedy that?

Mito cocktail and a few other things. I also had to start with Omega 6 before I

could go to Omega 3. I wrote about it here

No, sorry.

Sounds like what happened to my son (behavior). Both sons still get impacted

earwax, but maybe we have too many EFA's in their diet?

That is possible, either too many, or what you are giving is not being properly

digested and absorbed.

That is why we changed our dietary intake and stopped the supplement. I doubt we

were giving too much, as we started off low dose and were still way below what I

have heard everyone else gives.

The behavior stopped almost immediately (a day or two) after stopping.

Weird, huh? But you and I are not the only people this has happened with.
