NAC recycles vitamin C and E so I view it as a helper with oxidative

stress. Apparently ALA also recycles other vitamins. I bought the NAC to help

in my off chelation days.

I had no idea it was a weak chelator so I may just have to use it during

chelation days now.

Hi

If you have'nt done so already it might be worth trialling a sulfur exclusion

diet for around 7 days and instead of adding high sulfur foods back at the end

of this period maybe try adding NAC and see if there are negatives or positives.

Thanks Kenny :)

She always did well with ALA, so I thought she'd be okay with NAC, but it's very

hard to tell what's good or bad right now! I will try the diet to make sure.

Thanks

My son also had a tough time with NAC.I stopped it after three days.He can very

well tolerate sulfur foods but not NAC.He couldn't sit or stand even for a

min.He was just running for hours and hours and so on.As soon as i stopped he

was back to normal.

Hi Irene

When you say high sulfur foods do you mean foods high in thiols?

One of the main benefits of NAC is that it can be a precursor of glutathione

along with glutamine and glycine for those who have low plasma cysteine. For

those with high plasma cysteine, glutamine and glycine may be enough without

NAC, in this case NAC may actually cause problems so a sulfur(thiol exclusion

diet) might be worth trialling 1st to be on the safe side, it was with me

personally and also for my son.

All the best Kenny
