The factory is an economic giant that few previously dared to question. But it is New York's second biggest source of airborne mercury. and Kunz formed Community Advocates for Safe Emissions to urge the state to crack down on the plant's emissions. The group has managed to draw nationwide attention to its cause. In May, and Kunz invited experts from the Harvard School of Public Health to test about 185 residents for arsenic, lead, cadmium, aluminum and selenium. first grew concerned when she realized her then-4-year-old son was acting unusually and persistently aggressive.
