Guest guest
We are on our third round of chelation with our two year old (based on a hair test which doesn't meet counting rules, but showed higher antimony, titanium and tin, and slightly elevated aluminum and arsenic, all pointing to mercury toxicity). I added ALA (1.3mg per dose - he is 25 pounds) this weekend and he has been a tantruming mess! But the severe tantruming and irritation all started before our round of chelation though, so I don't know what is what. HE has had a cold too. Granted, he is already a VERY difficult child when it comes to tantruming and mood swings, he is defiant and pushy, but very affectionate and cuddly, interacts well with others, makes great eye contact, is sweet and funny, etc. I don't know what to make of these crazy bouts of screaming, yelling, fighting and crying though. This morning (our third day on round) he has spent the entire first half of his day crying over every little thing, defying anything we ask of him and yelling over things he wants. Is this terrible twos or is this something else going on? My other son who is 5 is also very moody and emotional, but not so defiant. Our older son has had issues with clostridia and yeast, a stool test also showed low levels of e.coli and strep, but it wasn't tagged as dysbiosis. We lowered his symptoms considerably quite a few months back, using the biofilm protocol (no EDTA!). I never did the stool test with our two year old. As similar as they sound in this way, they actually couldn't be more different in personality. Since my other son never went through terrible twos, I find myself second guessing the issues at hand. I don't know what to do about all of these tantrums and constant irritation and if it's something I should be concerned about, something I should address with supplementation, chelation dosing, etc. They both take all the recommended supplements, but I don't use any adrenal support, because my older son gets itchy with it and I never tried it with our younger son. We do use 5HTP and GABA though. What next? What would you do?

HE has had a cold too. Both chelation and viruses tend to increase yeast. Try increasing the yeast protocol, see if that helps. Dana
Guest guest
Any chance of an ear infection? or UTI? Does he have speech or another form of communication (sign or communication device)? Guest guest
Any chance he is taking Folate or B-complex in addition to chelation? He's a kid who is normally sweet and cooperative but with both of those supplements he had tantrums. Folate was the worst. He bit me, dug his fingernails into my arm so hard he made me bleed, and almost broke my nose with his head during Folate tantrums. When the supplements were removed, the tantrums stopped. Just a thought. > > We are on our third round of chelation with our two year old (based on a hair test which doesn't meet counting rules, but showed higher antimony, titanium and tin, and slightly elevated aluminum and arsenic, all pointing to mercury toxicity). Guest guest
Should I increase the dose amounts of what I am giving or increase the frequency? I already give him half of a capsule of berberine (Thorne Research Berbercap) and 10mg Biotin three times a day, plus Cytoflora twice a day. I didn't like using GSE so I switched to Berberine. > >>But the severe tantruming and irritation all started before our round of chelation though, so I don't know what is what. Guest guest
He doesn't appear to have an ear infection or a UTI, he can tell me when something hurts, he does talk. > >>But the severe tantruming and irritation all started before our round of chelation though, so I don't know what is what. Guest guest
He does take B-Complex, but I wasn't even giving it to him for the past week, I just gave him half of a capsule tonight actually, and he was surprisingly well behaved at his older brother's preschool graduation and thank goodness, because my husband was away on business, so I had to do it all alone!! They were both so well behaved! > > > > We are on our third round of chelation with our two year old (based on a hair test which doesn't meet counting rules, but showed higher antimony, titanium and tin, and slightly elevated aluminum and arsenic, all pointing to mercury toxicity).
