Guest guest
Hello, everyone.... I'm still learning about all this so please forgive if this is a silly question... Can anyone tell me if coffee colonics might be contra indicated for someone with high levels of mercury and other metals? The reason I ask: After having one, I had almost a week of abdominal soreness and loose stools, which I don't have with a regular colonic. I also have a new symptom: acute pain upon touching the top of one foot, feels like the nerves perhaps....It's been 3 weeks and it's not going away. I was concerned that perhaps it could be a case of redistribution.....I'm not chelating right now, so maybe this wasn't such a good idea for me. Does the liver store metals and excrete them in the bile or am I not correct on that? I think the coffee may stimulate the bile action somehow.... Thanks for any help you can give.... Guest guest
Taurine helps with bile and would be less invasive. > > Hello, everyone.... > > I'm still learning about all this so please forgive if this is a silly question... > > Can anyone tell me if coffee colonics might be contra indicated for someone with high levels of mercury and other metals? Guest guest
Hi, I've never heard of a coffee colonic and I'm a certified colon hydrotherapist. Do you mean a coffee enema (ie with an enema bag, rather than a colonic machine gravity or pump fed)? If a coffee enema you did yourself using enema bag, did you follow strict instructions (ie lie on right side with knees drawn up and use only 2 cups coffee water and don't move a muscle for 11 minutes, then get up--very different from a regular enema, which is on left side and more water and moving around)? If you did move or did a colonic machine coffee colonic, the caffeine goes all through your system. The enema bag way with strict protocol, your body doesn't absorb the caffeine. It just opens bile ducts to discharge liver. I can't imagine a situation where I'd even experiment on giving myself a coffee colonic. Wondering where your colonic therapist learned this. Coffee enema with strict protocol--well, I never had a side-effect except when I strayed from instructions and moved around a little--then I was up ALL night cleaning the windows till 4am! It's a pretty hit and run approach to cleaning the liver tho; very harsh, for use in emergency circumstances, in just my opinion. It shocks the liver into releasing. I prefer liver cleansing a la Hulda 's homemade method or a Dr Schulze liver cleanse from herbdoc.com. Even that can make you feel mighty yukky if your liver has a lot of toxins stored up in stones/prestones. Sounds like you may have reabsorbed some toxins, which makes you feel even worse. Doesn't mean stop cleaning the liver, in my experience; means clean it more. BUT if you're chelating, then I am not the person to ask, since I don't know about cross-reactions between colonics, liver cleanses, and chelation. Would love to hear, though, others experience/expertise. Also, if you ate meat around the time of colonic or any kind of fat, that's a huge amount of stress on the liver as it purges. Usu with liver cleanse, you're told not to eat fat for 48 hrs or so and to do raw fruit/veggies only. I experienced black feelings when doing liver cleanses first few times--I'm pretty sure that was heavy metals. I don't know what the Cutler recommendations are on liver cleansing/colonics. I'd be interested to hear. I don't practice any more as a colon hydrotherapist, but am interested to hear about whether colonics is a good complement to the Cutler method, since I can always re-add that to my health protocol. best wishes and happy holidays, Fiona > > Hello, everyone.... > > I'm still learning about all this so please forgive if this is a silly question... > > Can anyone tell me if coffee colonics might be contra indicated for someone with high levels of mercury and other metals? Guest guest
If you are mercury toxic, it's not recommended by Andy Cutler to attempt liver cleansing. It's very hard on the liver and can create more problems for you. Easier is to take milk thistle four times a day and taurine to support your liver while you remove your amalgams and work towards low frequent dose chelation. Coffee does contain caffeine which may be a problem for you if you have poor adrenal function. As do most people with mercury poisoning. have you tried taking some activated charcoal? Guest guest
Fiona, Not my discussion, but you should check the company that gave you the certification. Coffee Colonics were HUGE in L.A. in the nineties. Especially with the Celebrity crowd. They do it in Australia right now. Along with Fecal enema's. Which have a rich history of working extremely well. YUK, I know, but they do it and it works. They have also conducted fecal enema's in Great Britain with great results. Coffee enema's happen on a regular basis today. But I can find no place that still does coffee colonics. Although I would not be surprised to find a place in L.A. or a resort in Palm Springs.
