Guest guest Posted June 4, 2010 Report Share Posted June 4, 2010 We just started our boy on Miralax, prescribed by a GI doctor. He had chronic constipation. Seems to be working. He is going at least once a day now. He also seems to be eating better and drinking better. If your boy is older, maybe you can just get him to drink more liquids. I know when I get dehydrated I get grumpy myself. When the husband was taking an immunology class (a few moons ago),he learned that Polyethylene Glycol or PEG (MiraLax is PEG3350) was used to merge cell membranes of two different types of cells, to create a third type of cell with new characteristics. When membranes fuse under the influence of PEG, it can form syncytia (cells that have more than one nucleus). This process actually happens in the formation of muscle tissue, but doesnt usually happen in other cell types. When it does happen, it can change the character of a cell drastically because it scrambles information that is provided in cell to cell communication. Also, some gene swapping occurs when PEG is used to fuse cells. This may mean that genes from pathogens in your gut which have developed resistence to antibiotics could share those genes with other pathogens after exposure to PEG.
