BTW, while searching on DMSA, I found another (hidden?) page

comparing mercury magnet with DMSA:

https://www.cocoonnutrition.org/catalog/pdf_docs/Captomer_vs_Mercury_Magnet.pdf

I can't say if these claims are true, but in my own case, I can

certainly say that the claim about " no side effects " from mercury

magnet isn't true for me. I get side effects at the recommended

dose, but these can be limited to a tolerable amount by reducing

the dose. In my case, I had to reduce my initial intake from

the recommended dosage of 2 caps/day to 0.5 cap every other day.

I suspect that I'll be able to increase that over time to

the recommended dose, but I'll have to wait & see on that...

We are persevering with DMSA suppositories but we think we also have had

your experience. But, we are also not sure whether Fred was coming down

with something in t he middle of a round. We are on our 3rd round and have

managed the insertion of the suppositories when he asleep. This round has

not been so easy tho as he keeps waking up!

We are going to carry on until I see dr heard middle of May. Lxx

Lucinda,

We switched back from the suppositories to TD-DMSA and have seen

improvement in aggresion and less prone to tantrumming after one

round (8hr cycle) i.e. back to pre suppositories mood. We're going

to switch to a 4 hour schedule this weekend to see what happens.

HOW you use the DMSA is more important than when but most folks including me who waited to chelate wish they hadn't and just got on with it

I know I also need to find a DAN practitioner, we are in suffolk.

Hi Sam,

There is a list of practitioners at www.treatingautism.co.uk

It is a good idea to start by healing the gut (also find info at

treatingautism.co.uk). I would recommend reading 'gut and psychology

syndrome' by Natasha McBride as a fantastic place to start with

diet and also to supplement a good fish oil like MorEPA and probiotics.

In the meanwhile try to give a junk-free diet, as home-cooked and as

organic as possible. A trial of milk and all dairy products is

definitely worth a go. We saw massive improvements when we took our son

off milk, that's not true for everyone but it is common enough and

definitely worth a go.

* If it is 3 or more days post amalgam removal then DMSA can help.

Dont take any chelators without removing all metal fillings

beforehand. Nickel is excreted in sweat so saunas could help him here.

Lead is best removed with DMSA. It is stored in the bones and leaches

out of them as the chelation works.

Dont be alarmed if he appears to show little progress or even

regression after 6-8 months. This is expected and will pass provided

you chelate regularly. i chelate at weekends.

There is an autism mercury list that deals with chelation via the DAN! protocol.

toxins don't come out, could that make her a lot worse. After this round of DMSA

she is looking bad. The only thing I can think of is that I had to bring her to

the ER for constipation. She finally went, but I am thinking that the lead and

mercury stayed inside of her for too long. I can't think of anything else. She

dose not look good. Any suggestion?

At my house, yeast overgrowth was constipating. So if she is constipated with

DMSA, the first thing I would try is increasing the yeast protocol.

Biotin and GSE worked well here.

>>>The physician's desk reference only mentions DMSA large dosage treatment for

something?>>>

Yes the physcian's desk reference is not always a reliable source of

information. They don't say that thiomersal can cause permanent brain damage in

children for example. It does however.

They also don't say that large single doses of DMSA can cause permanent brain

damage in children because they slowly shift more mercury in the CNS of the

child. But this can happen.

Is your DAN! unwilling to use AC protocol or just unfamiliar? It is very, very

easy to do.

She is unfamiliar with it. However not against it. Has anyone ever dealt with

any Lyme issues in their children?

Better to get the book and do it yourself. Good chance a doctor will send you in

the wrong direction for their own profit.

Well, then direct the doctor to www.noamalgam.com for starters. She could

purchase a copy of Amalgam Illness

He/she could also possibly call or email , ARNP 206-760-9266 who

Andy respects. That might be an easier contact. is in Seattle.

I say there's no harm in asking, but you'd need to make sure your MD is

interested in learning about AC protocol. I find it hard to believe that a DAN!

doctor out there doesn't know about Andy...

She too has a child on the spectrum and in her own research she became aware of

Andy and his research. I will definitely pass along the information. I do have

to say that I was incorrect about the dosage. I thought it was 350mg(this is

what the label on the DSMA said) however, she told me this morning that it is

350mg per kg. The dose was actually 25mg. I still  think I feel safer going

Andy's route. I winder if this doctor in Seattle would be willing to work with

us? Thanks again!
