Milk thistle is not a chelator, it is liver support. It increased bile output

from what I hear. Completely safe to take with amalgams or with other supps.

I take what's recommended on the bottle as a daily dose. I have liver issues

myself. We give the kids half the adult dose.

Subject: [ ] Milk thistle, I'm confused

I still have the amalgams. Do I use milk thistle or not? Does it chelate the

mercury, moving it around and will make me sicker and so I wait to use the milk

thistle till AFTER removal of the amalgams or do I use it before? I need

something to support my liver, but I don't want to chelate it yet due to the

amalgams still in. If I can use it BEFORE removal, how much is good to use? I

have the dropper kind, not capsules. It's 2,000 mg per 56 drops.

Oh, also, would I take this say 2 hours away from a current medicine I take so

it won't pull out that med I am on?

Any help on this would be appreciated... I can't figure out if is a chelator

like alpha lipoic acid???

TJ,

Thanks for your response :) My bottle says 2,000 mg is a dropperful. And it says

there are 15 of those in the bottle. Is that about how much you take daily...

2,000 mg?

Also, I was reading a site on dosage for milk thistle and they say:

" Glutathione; a vital substance for the detoxification of the liver. In one

study, milk thistle use raised the glutathione levels in the body more than 30%;

this in turn meant that the liver was more effective at cleansing the body and

eliminating toxic substances. "

So, since I am doing the low sulfur / thiol diet and not supposed to have added

glutathione, I'm wondering if the milk thistle is good for me then???

You might want to ask a Naturopath doctor.
