Yes, I have considered so many factors. I read Dr. McCandless' book -- I

think it was in that one --something about mother's not holding titers to

rubella. I don't hold titers to rubella. Of course the first thing they

wanted to do to me after giving birth was give me another MMR shot, but I

adamantly refused.

I had a serious reaction to the flu shot when I was twenty-seven -- I mean I

was deathly ill within hours after the shot, could not bear weight and had

to be carried into the emergency room where they put me in a back room and a

lot of whispering went on. I was completely yellow, and the first stupid

question the er doc asks my friend who carried me in is, " Is she normally

this yellow? "

Then of course they proceed to tell me it was a fluke and I was already

coming down with the flu when I got the shot. Load of crap. I was never

THAT SICK before nor after. It was the closest to death I have ever come,

but at the time I wound up believing it was a fluke but was cautious about

my son getting shots. Our ped was well aware that I did not want my son to

get thimerosal-containing vaccines, but she lied and did it anyway.

So I've thought about my own bad reaction to a vaccine, the fact that I

don't hold titers to rubella, having a c-section and having an epidural, my

son having hyperbilirubin anemia (we were back to the hospital when he was a

week old, and we were there for several days, and it was a nightmare).

However, except for persistent colic, my son developed normally to fifteen

months of age, then as soon as he got his fifteen month shots --BOOM, he was

never the same --I mean I walked in with a child who talked and was FINE,

and I walked out with a non-verbal child who would not say another

discernible word with meaning for three years.

I was vaccinated in '92 without even being asked, though I was conscious

after a freak accident. That was for tetanus. I haven't taken a vaccine

since and won't unless I'm bit by something rabid. I could never risk

losing my son again that way. The only illnesses he's had since then are

ones I believe were induced by the vaccine damage --chronic lung infections

and asthma. I also believe his chronic cellulitis is due to the shots

screwing up his immune system.

Whatever the other factors may or may not be, vaccines are the smoking gun.

I agree with what you say --I think trying to go as natural as possible with

everything is the way to go, but I had to have a c-section due to previous

uterine surgery for fibroids. The epidural caused a lot of residual

problems afterward. Did you have residual problems? My lower back was

still numb for a very long time, and I had excruciating neck pain. I had a

hard time bouncing back afterward, especially with a colicky baby.

I also think it is quite possible that my son had a problem with milk and

soy protein from the start. I breast fed, but we had to start supplementing

when he was about four months, and we had the hardest time finding a formula

he could tolerate. So I do think his colic was something amiss in protein

digestion.

Certainly is a warning sign...and to me an indicator *not* to vaccinate. I wish

they could work on that.

I agree. I especially think women have any allele such as not holding

titers to rubella. I've heard from several women who have this allele and

then when they vaccinated their kids around fifteen months they regressed.

I also think anyone having ANY type of vaccine reaction should never again

take one themselves and should never vaccinate their kids (unless, like I

said they get bit by a rabid skunk.)

I'm certain any drug taken during pregnancy and during childbirth can have

an effect on the baby. Another thing I thought of was how quickly they cut

the cord. I mean, are they absolutely sure that a baby isn't getting vital

things from the cord for a minute after birth? Are they sure the baby isn't

still getting some blood volume?

I wish I had banked my son's cord blood -- in order for doing some

comparative testing and also maybe for treatment.

My son had jaundice on day 5. We were advised not to vaccinate. My OB believes

that jaundice after birth is a symptom of an infection.
