Hello All,

My daughter was found to have abnormal EEG activity on the left side of her

brain (they were testing to see if she has seizures but she doesn't have

them).Doctor said there was some irritation on the left side of brain. They said

they cannot tell exactly what could be causing the irritation. Has anyone had a

problem with this? How to deal with this?

I think my son has the same problem but we haven't gotten him an EEG yet. I

have found a lot of resources stating that the left temporal lobe is where the

problems are. It was interesting because he tested as being very right brained

on the brain balance testing.

I am worried because he keeps putting his hands over his ears. Our appointment

with the neurologist is Sept. 24.

There are very few choices other than antiseizure medications, which unless they

absolutely knew what she had and that it didn't respond, really should be tried.

The EEG details - in the written report in her chart, not what the doctor told

you - may aid in selection of the drug most likely to work.

Did the doctor offer to prescribe? If so, what?
