Mb12 can make them hyperactive, hence sleeplessness is ok.I let him sleep during

evening if he wished. With yeast protocol now, epsom salt bath puts him to sleep

sooner ....its worth trying.i did not give any benadryl.

Did you give him Benadryl as well?

something to remember is that on GF/CF it's easy to get low on molybdenum which

we can usually get from wheat. molybdenum is needed for metabolizing

phenols/polyphenols. check archives or google for more. if hyperactivity from

MB12 it may be connected.

also, if MB12 is activating brain detox this would explain irritation...

B12 and SAMe are crucial to brain detox, possibly lower dosage or do epsom salt

baths to help detox body more efficiently. Love these baths and they are easy

and soothing.

..........................................

I'm going to post a question to the group regarding an explanation of phenol

metabolism...maybe answers will come from this.

No, I haven't tried Melatonin. He's taking so many supplements and he's not even

2 years old yet so I feel scared. We give him the B12 in the morning around 8am

and his bedtime isn't until 9pm so I don't know why he's having the middle of

the night wakings? We do Epsom salt baths every night for 15 minutes (he doesn't

like to stay in the tub longer).

Yes, he's on the GFCF diet as well. I'm sure the MB12 is causing this now

because I didn't give it to him today and he napped for 2 hours with no problem

and I'm hoping his bedtime will go smooth as well. Yes, we're keen on nightly

epsom salt baths here:)

As a nurse, I do not recommend using benadryl every on a daily basis.

The loratidine is a clear dye-free grape flavor when purchased in rite-aid

brand.

If you are not scared to give him Benadryl, you should not be scared to try

melatonin.

It is worth a try.

You might also want to try Natural Calm which is an all natural powdered

calcium and magnesium mix. You mix it with water and it taste a bit like

mild lemonade. Both calcium and magnesium help to calm the body.

No. It used to be, but you can get OTC now. Rite-Aid has a grpae flavor that is

clear. (We have dye issues and so that is how I know.)

However, if your doctor prescribes, then insurance will usually pay for it, as

ours does. They just take it off the shelf and put a label on it.

Does his B-complex have much folate? My kids needed 5-MTHF

(methyltetrahydrofolate or active folate), not folic acid with their B12.

Also, lack of liver support affects sleep quality. Milk thistle and a bit of

molybdenum (we use BioCare liquid drops) helped with that here.

Sounds like tummy pain to me. I wouldn't try melatonin right away, for the very

reason that you said he's crying inconsolably. That doesn't sound like a sleep

issue, but a health issue that's making him cry, the pain bad enough to wake

him.

Puffiness under the eyes is a red flag for allergy. It might help to remove the

allergen/s. Hallucinations and night terrors can be dietary.

This presentation might be helpful:

http://www.recoveryvideos.com/video/elaineweb.mov

If you aren't already, I'd give a warm bath in epsom salts and baking soda

(15-20 minutes) nightly. It will help with detoxification. It would probably

benefit you to do the same for yourself - it improves sleep efficiency by 2/3.

My son used to do the same thing, at about the same age. I didn't know much

about biomed at the time, and he wasn't yet GFCF. A yogurt in the middle of the

night was like giving him a tranquilizer. He went from seething/inconsolable to

calm and snuggly. It was withdrawal waking him up. I suppose kids can have

withdrawal symptoms from other foods... or it could be " die-off " .

Of all the things I tried to calm my son when he was in that state, the cold

night air seemed help. I'd wrap him in a blanket and stand on the snowy

doorstep. He liked it so much, he'd sometimes scream if I tried to go inside

again. It's the wrong time of year for that now, but maybe rocking him next the

breeze of a cool fan would help.

Inconsolable crying is common among those damaged by the DPT vaccine.
