Guest guest
I posted recently with regard to our son waking up crying in the middle of the night. The only two new things we were giving him were Culturelle and MB12 tablets. After all your great responses/ advice we cut the MB12 in half and he's been sleeping well for his naps and going to bed okay but still waking up crying in the middle of the night. I think our issue is the Culterelle. We've been giving him 1 capsule at dinnertime and it seems that everytime we give it to him he wakes up in the middle of the night screaming and after many hours of trying to put him back to sleep he wakes up in the morning with a heavy soiled diaper so I don't know if he has stomach pains, or die-off? I tried giving him the Culterelle a little earlier in the day but again he woke up screaming at night and with a soiled diaper in the morning. Could it be that he's not tolerating the Culturelle? Could it be die-off? Should I just do Biotin instead or let his stomach get used to Culterelle? If anyone can please give me some advice I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much! Guest guest
The kids version has manitol, a sugar. Â It has milk protein http://www.culturelle.com/files/culturelle/pdf/Culturelle_supplement_facts_EDH30\ ..pdf Mannite or manna sugar, a six-carbon sugar alcohol found in beets, pumpkin, mushrooms, onions; 50-60% as sweet as sucrose. Extracted commercially from seaweed (Laminaria spp.) or made from the sugar mannose (E-421). This says fermented mannitol bacteria relates to staph? Maybe I don't understand?? http://jb.asm.org/cgi/reprint/54/2/266.pdf Kathy From: DIANA <dmniemes@...> [ ] CULTERELLE? Guest guest
my experience has shown that when my son wakes up @ night, it is for a reason....i sit and try to rule out what it can be since he's not verbal....i would suggest not making him go to sleep until you figure it out..... his diaper is soiled because the culturelle is being given @ night....I give my sons culturelle in the daytime or on the weekends since i know that it makes them have a bowel movement... marci > > The kids version has manitol, a sugar. > Â > It has milk protein > http://www.culturelle.com/files/culturelle/pdf/Culturelle_supplement_facts_EDH30\ ..pdf > > Mannite or manna sugar, a six-carbon sugar > alcohol found in beets, pumpkin, mushrooms, onions; 50-60% as sweet > as sucrose. Guest guest
That's the same thing I was thinking, that the Culturelle is giving him stomach pains at night. I didn't give it to him tonight so let's see how it goes. Thanks for responding:) > > > > The kids version has manitol, a sugar. > > Â > > It has milk protein > > http://www.culturelle.com/files/culturelle/pdf/Culturelle_supplement_facts_EDH30\ ..pdf > > > > Mannite or manna sugar, a six-carbon sugar > > alcohol found in beets, pumpkin, mushrooms, onions; 50-60% as sweet > > as sucrose. Guest guest
We're giving him the regular Culturelle which is dairy free/ gluten free. > > The kids version has manitol, a sugar. Guest guest
It only has a billion cells versus the adult version which has 10 billion, so it would be less potent. You'd still probably want to work up to a full dose to see how its tolerated. Karla > > > > > > I posted recently with regard to our son waking up crying in the middle of the night.
