Guest guest
My dad had c-diff and ended up being on 3 bouts of antibiotics. They kept prescribing only 5-10 days of antibiotics and it wasn;t until they gave him a script for 14 days that he finally kicked it. Are you doing things like yogurt, probiotics to support the gut? Once we started adding those things he started getting better as well. We now have him on those all the time now. Martha How long can we stay on Vancomycin and when do the BMs get better Posted by: " grandmadd " denise.mcquade@... denise.mcquade Tue Feb 23, 2010 7:24 pm (PST) Can anyone who has had their kiddo on Vancomycin for long periods of time please share your experiences. It seems we can't resolve the horrible bowel movements while on the Vanco however it is the only thing that seems to control the Clostridia and brings huge improvements. Any idea how long it is safe to be on? What's the longest time anyone has kept their kids on it and how long did it take before the bowel movements return to somewhat normal. All I can say is the combination of the Valtrex and Vanco is doing wonders for us with the only exception of the bad bowel movements. ____________________________________________________________ Diet Help Cheap Diet Help Tips. I have never used Vanco. For bad bacteria problems, I used OLE and sometimes OoO. > I can say is the combination of the Valtrex and Vanco is doing wonders > for us with the only exception of the bad bowel movements. Both Valtrex and Vanco will tend to increase yeast. For three of my kids and myself, yeast was usually constipating. For one of my kids, yeast caused diarrhea. Try increasing the yeast protocol, see if that helps. Dana
